Benjie Offical Thread

Hi!
I own an AGPtek M20 (i.e. Benjie S5).
I tried to upgrade the firmware using this file: http://images.agptek.us/Download/M20(20170613).zip
But my device keeps showing "170329-AG-M20-V1.1" as firmware version, as it was before the upgrade.
So... Have I flashed the correct file?

This page (http://images.agptek.us/image/) lists several files related to the M20.
Which one is the latest?

Thanks.

Where can you see what firmware version you are running? I've looked but I cannot find anything.

Thank you

I don't have that option... I didn't have it with the original Benjie firmware and I still don't have it after updating to the AGPtek firmware.

Very strange.
How did you update the firmware?

I used Actions Audio Product Tool V1.03 and flashed the firmware with only "Production" checked under Basical Config (i.e., Flash_Erase unchecked).

Yeah, I did the same thing. I used 1.18_V2.6 of the firmware, which I downloaded from the AGPtek site. It must have worked because now I see AGPTEK on the splash screen when I turn it on!

Can you remember the precise link to that firmware (i.e. 1.18_V2.6)?
No but it was in this thread somewhere.

(The downloaded zip files was named M20-player-update.1.18 and it was 41.3 MB)

EDIT: No, sorry, I didn't get the link from this thread - i thought I'd bookmarked it but I couldn't find it so rather than go through 100+ pages I searched online and downloaded the firmware from agptek.com, here: http://www.images.agptek.us/image/M20-player-update.1.18.zip

I flashed that file and... yes, there's no Player information entry under Information.
At least, we have the proof that the upgrade procedure through Actions Audio Product Tool really has some effect...

Cool. I knew mine had worked because of the splash screen and the time/date screensaver but it's nice to know it's the firmware and not my player that's got no version information.

Is this version also for S5b, the newest S5 version with Bluetooth?

Hey everyone, I just got my Benjie X1 and loaded music on a micro SD card and put it in. I can see the files fine in 'folder' mode, but from the main menu, 'All songs', 'Artists', and 'Albums' show nothing. Is there somewhere I have to set for them to load from the SD card?

I'm also wondering if there are any 3rd party firmwares or updates available? According to the information, I'm currently on v1.101

Thank you all! So far really enjoying the Benjie x1, it sounds great and the actual product itself feels hefty and of quality. :)

Although I'm perfectly satisfied with the sound and user-interface of my Benjie T6, I do miss a search function. Before I bought my DAP I used a Huawei Android tablet for listening to music. The sound was not too bad with the Jetaudio app, but nothing compared to the Benjie T6.
Though the Jetaudio app has a big advantage over the Benjie T6 and most other DAP's. A Search function! It's sometimes very hard to find a song in my extensive collection. I do hope Benjie will develop a search function in their next models.

Does anybody know of a DAP that has a search function?
