I spent 265 dollars on new Beyerdynamic DT 990 Premium headphones a year and a half ago. I at first considered the Beats.  Upon further investigation, I realized that they are a bit overpriced for what you get, especially since I don't listen to Hip Hop a whole lot.  They are more a fashion statement.  Something to wear around.  They have artifical bass pounded on them to 'enhance' the listening experience.  10 or so kids walk around my school with them on.  And I laugh at them everyday.  I'm not trashing the Beats.  I am not.  I am simply saying that if you want your moneys worth, reconsider.  Obviously this post is a bit on the late side.  I originally considered these.  The people that buy them just want top of the line headphones and don't want to reserach other options and want to look like hard asses.

Well if we're talking about fakes, just go on eBay or Dealextreme and get the Studios for like 20$. They'll probably sound better.
