The general consensus on the forum seems to be that the DT770's are the best headphones for bassheads but when I got the TMA-1's it had a much stronger bass. The mids and highs weren't as clear but the bass was definitely better. I bought my DT770's used and have always been wondering whether or not something was wrong with the bass in some way. A blown driver maybe? Can anyone give me their thoughts on the comparisons between the two basses so that I can tell the difference?

I have no idea why people say the bass on beyers is for a basshead. Ultrasone, Denon and senn have much better cans with bass.
 
I feel that Beyers are detailed and more balanced if you get the right pairs.
 
You don't have a blown driver, you're just experiencing a difference

Good to hear. I still love the DT770's. So comfortable. Easier to appreciate what I got when I know nothing's missing.

My main set of cans is the AiAiAi TMA-1 Studio.  I'm going to Guitar Center tomorrow, and if I can remember, I'll tell you how the DT 770's sound compared to the studios.
