Hello Bakoon friends, how we doing? If anyone is interested - Bakoon DAC-9740 (in conjunction with USC-1001) should be with me mid-November. With this, I'll be able to offer impressions on the complete Satri circuit. In the meantime, I received the HDA-5230. First impressions were strong, but alas it developed a battery issue and is now being replaced. Also to be replaced mid-November or so.

Any other HDA-5210MK4 users received their amps? I continue to enjoy mine with the utmost enthusiasm.

I don't mind to try your gear, it might be halfway from Poland to Austria, so somewhere in the Czech Republic.

I have been meaning to get back to Prague for a while, so... Although not sure I can lug the amp and DAC around. As an alternative, the CAP-1005 DAC looks a good size for transportable action.

Together with Mojo it will fit in a backpack easily.

Nice. The CAP-1005 DAC runs from a modest 5v, so likely even more portable.

BTW: the CAP-1001 & CAP-1005 seem to have same dimensions, so would make a lovely mini transportable stack.

I believe this is slightly misleading. It comes stock HIBIKI-IC-UL. One can opt for variation in the gain controllers, however. The differences were explained a few pages back on this thread.

After carefully rereading the whole thread I still don't understand the difference between the three gain controllers, or the difference between the SATRI-IC-EX and SATRI-IC-UL + US circuit boards. I'd be grateful for more explanation.

I believe the only difference is between metal film resistant ATT and no instruction winding resistant ATT. The circuit remains the IC-UL, I think.To mitigate any confusion, I'm in contact with Mastero Akira Nagai and will ask him directly.

Can the HDA-5210mk4 be ordered with a volume control that is continuously adjustable, instead of one with discrete steps?

@Nostoi. Hello again. I see you have a Bakoon USC-1001 which I wanted to ordered once to convert my mac mini M1 usb signal to linear PCM SPDIF signal to feed my Schiit Gungnir Multibit USB Gen 5. I move to Australia now and still saving my money to buy a new amp and want to order a Bakoon headamp to Australia. Many headphones amps from many brands around the world in Australia however the prices somehow overpriced I think. Like Enleum AMP-23R Amplifier is about 11k $AUS and at that price is so much for my budget lol.

I can confirm the Bakoon USC-1001 works very well on multiple sources. I sometimes use on my Hugo 2, and the difference vs. USB input are notable. USC-1001 also works flawlessly with Roon.

I will be updating this thread soon(ish) with impressions on DAC-9740 and HDA-5210MK4 synergy, voltage vs. Satri output, the HDA-5230, as well as general reflections on different Bakoon/SCL distributors.

As for prices, yes I'm not going to remark on Enleum here, but their pricing policy seems to be a recurring theme whenever the AMP-23R is mentioned.
