Congrats on your new set, curious to know whether you pulled it off with the update and if not why. So according to your post you got the 1st gen, and you don't find a decent case. I bought a Generic Hard Carry Case Box Bag For BANG & OLUFSEN BeoPlay H2 H6 H7 H8 Headphone from eBay for a bit more than 15 euros. Unfortunately, the Gocase costs (through ebay) a bit more than 70 euros shipping included. I'd better buy this one instead (if I'm to pay a lot for a case): peak by hard graft (look it up under small leather goods /headphones). You are sure that the ridiculous pouch they gave with the 1st gen will not be given with the 2nd one?
Thanks Aischilos. The update was successful - it was the low battery level after all. Any idea about the serial number displayed on the Beoplay app for you? Is it displayed properly or also 0000?
Let me clarify. I did not buy the supposed 2nd gen H7 (that Amazon UK is selling starting from Nov 1). What I meant is that presumably, the current H7 sold (not those that are old stock), do not come with a cloth bag. This is confirmed with the cocoa brown H7 from Germany, as well as a set that was opened at a local mall, both which did not have the bag. So I do not know if the 2nd gen will come with a bag. All I know is that if you buy a H7 today that isn't stocked from 2015, then you probably won't get a bag.
The Peak by Hard Graft is certainly very nice, but I was wondering if the lack of a hardcase protection will still result in it being squashed in a tightly packed bag, for example. I suppose I wasn't too happy with the cases they have on offer on Amazon UK - like there were some that were nice but had a bright orange interior.
I suppose I'm nitpicking.
Something like this would be excellent: https://www.behance.net/gallery/42734579/A-Weekend-Project-Beoplay-H7-Case
And for anyone who is interested - on Mac OSX (el capitan), the B&O defaults automatically to AAC, while the P5 wireless insists on aptx even when I disable the 'force aptx' in Bluetooth explorer, and enable 'force AAC'. The QC35, on the other hand, insists on defaulting to SBC even with force AAC and aptx on.
