Imho the SR-009 and an early SR-007 MK1 fit the same purpose as your proposed Combination and they do have three options for a perfect amplifier: Stax T2, BHSE and KGSSHV

But this are assertions I am really looking forward to the Luminare - BHSE comparision with the 009 one of the earliest 007 ever sold in the EU and an Sigma pro (well some Lambdas will also be present) and some of the top (imho inherently inferior

) dynamic and isodynamic cans.

Though question because I don't know the abyss, bit the SR-007 MK1 has the most beautiful voices Of both genders I know and is a clear winner over the LCD3. The best nonelectrostatic contender in this area was my HE-6.

No luck for me, I gave to my brother the  SR-007 mk2, but I have never listened to an (early) SR-007 mk1.

My conclusion from this review: the Luminare is a very interesting amplifier that deserves to be known and go lend a pair of ear (curious) with our favorite headphones.

Pierre does not find awesome the HD-800 stock (me too) ; he prefers other headphones (for example : the Chroma M2).
Yet it (HD-800) works well with the Luminare amp, but this remains an HD-800; I prefer the Stax SR-009 and LCD-3F.

Real in one person's mind is not necessarily real in another person's mind.
 
Also, when one person hears something better than he has ever heard before, there are 3 of many other reactions that reveal themselves.
 
1. He hears the difference and appreciates it for what it is.
 
2. He hears the difference, but prejudice causes him to believe that it is inferior to what he is used to and likes.
 
3. He cannot hear the difference and so thinks that anyone who says they can are deluded and/or suffer from confirmation bias.
