I will await your translation of this momentous event for us non-european denizens.

Seriously, I not speaking a single word in German  and maybe 2 (or perhaps 3) words of English ; if a devoted member of the German forum (also registered on Head-Fi) who would participate in this momentous event (a historic day
wink.gif
), was willing to give his opinion (good or bad) in English on this thread, he would be welcome.

I appreciate you, Wink "the wise";  Wink "the curious" ;Wink "non humorless"

Let's be patient and await the first returns of the two-day official presentation of theLuminare amp (with M. Becker) (Days 20 and 21 March) ; expected reports, on the German forum http://www.open-end-music.de/vb3/showthread.php?t=8134&page=8

Eric

Maybe I take part of this presentation because I live only 100km away from it.

I am a member of both forums, and plan to be there with my BHSE (they really challenged me). Will report back.

Wenn Sie sich bewegen können, für diese Veranstaltung, Ihre Meinung ist willkommen.
Dies gilt auch für Cucera. Danke

And you, Wink ?
To be able to say, "I was there! me too" (to this momentous event)

Eric, maybe you can pay for Wink's airfare and hotel? I mean, he may be your single potential customer from head-fi now, hence justifying the expense :yum:.

Cucera: great to hear about you bringing the bhse to the meet! I thouroughly expect it to get trashed for lack of synergizing with the 009, but it's all good as you'll be bringing an omega 2 for which it'll remain the king. :).

As a doctor, I formally recommend to Wink to avoid going in Germany (or even in France) because of the current flu epidemic; He would survive not!
If he comes (despite my warnings), I would be happy to give him a free consultation.

I am sure that wink can build a rkv if he wants to.
Complete with tesla coil on top.

Someone needs to bring a GSX2 to the meet so
eric can hear it.

Perhaps (for the RKV).

But for a Luminare, until proven otherwise, only Mr. Becker can do it.

And it's interesting, because it would seem that the Luminare amp differs from the RKV-II and from the RKV-III when listening to the Abyss (in OTL mode) ; We were recently discussing of this with Pierre on the French forum.

I think the added transformers are a pretty simple thing to do.

eric, you now have to buy the burson, the various audio-gd discrete opamps, and a few of the others
and start opamp rolling with your tube rolling.

you could keep this thread going on forever.

I was born in Austria. I used to understand German conversationally reasonably well
These days I have no interest in any language except English.

I have no desire to travel abroad from Australia, so eric's bank balance is safe.

Yes, sounds like a plan.

Eric, I have a couple Burson opamp modules you can have to start the balll rolling.
pm me your address and I'll mail them to you free.

Perhaps, only Mr. Becker wants to do it.

Maybe a new line of toroidal output transformers would revolutionise things for him.
Especially silver wired ones with gold plating on the leads.

SR-009, LCD-3F and/or Abyss: perhaps the ideal complement of full sized headphones to cover every genre, and every listening mood ?
http://www.head-fi.org/t/666765/the-jps-labs-abyss-ab-1266-impressions-thread/2070#post_11368437

It remains to find THE good amplifier able to drive (simultaneously) all these very high-end headphones ...

A great review of this universal amplifier (the Luminare amp) here (link : http://casques-headphones.blogspot.fr/2015/03/un-amplificateur-transistors-tubes-et.html). Thank you very much Peter.

My conclusion from this review: the Luminare is a very interesting amplifier that deserves to be known and go lend a pair of ear (curious) with our favorite headphones.

(NB: the Germans will organize this month in Geseke (the weekend of 20-21 March) a meeting to do discover the Luminare at the public.

Imho the SR-009 and an early SR-007 MK1 fit the same purpose as your proposed Combination and they do have three options for a perfect amplifier: Stax T2, BHSE and KGSSHV:D

But this are assertions I am really looking forward to the Luminare - BHSE comparision with the 009 one of the earliest 007 ever sold in the EU and an Sigma pro (well some Lambdas will also be present) and some of the top (imho inherently inferior :D ) dynamic and isodynamic cans.
