Hi all, like to know what's your opinion for H16 at this price(USD 98)? I currently have s12, Truthear Hexa and Audiosense DT600 (which i enjoy and used the most). Mainly listening to Jpop / Kpop and live music monitoring. OR better go for other option like Geek GK200 / Aful performance 8 or etc?
I've just got Tingker H6 on last sale, and while it's not the H16 and I have never heard other full BA before, maybe my quick impressions could be helpful to you.
So, H6 has a large quantity, punchy and fast bass, mids feels veiled and the elevation in the pinna gain is abrupt and could be shouty at times, but they also can be very detailing. I have a PR2 v1 which should be close to your s12, and I think PR2 is very dry while H6 feels dehydrated in tonality... the completely opposite of my warm Simgot EA500. Someone said in a review that H6 felt between DT300 and DT600. I don't know if H16 follows the same tonality of H6 with improvements, but if so that's what you should expect.

There is discussion of the Tingker H16 earlier in this thread. Akros also did a YouTube review with comparisons to DT600 and DT800.

I think it was described here as similar to T800 but with smoother treble. Just search in this thread.

I already grabbed the coupon and put them in the trolley for 11/11.

Even though the company has probably become history, I decided to buy AQ7 Pro. Fingers crossed.

Oh, one more question: even though I just received the AQ7 Pro, should I also consider buying the DT600?

DT600 is one of my favourites, it doesn't have the boosted treble and upper mids that feature in so many sets tuned for the Asian market. Treble isn't rolled off but it's smooth and not fatiguing. Darker tuning but not at all muddy. Falls short of bass head level of bass but won't appeal to treble heads either. Similar character to AQ4. Tonality, details staging and imaging are all great.

I got my Audiosense DT600 about a week ago and since then have not swapped to any other model (other than comparing when I got them). I really like them to just enjoy my music. No sibilance (unless its in the recording). Bass is full without muddying the mids, female vocals sound very clear and pleasing. Prior to these I had Blessing 3, and Kiwi Orchestra Lite as my mains but I think I'm going to sell them both at this point and just stop chasing for a while - just enjoy the music! Of all the sets I've tried, they are one of the most natural sounding of an all BA set. I like the Orchestra Lites (also very natural) but they don't have the punch of the DT600, and they have a tiny bit of sibilance (I'm very sensitive to it). They are a bit wider (lites). They were my go to before ending my current arm of my upgrade cycle. The Blessing 3 feels too thin to me. I think sometimes people get so focused on hearing all the little details that they don't prioritize natural sounding, and to me when the detail shines through it makes me feel like its like turning on the sharpness filter on a photo. At some point its unnatural looking even though its "clearer". Honestly if the 'fullness' means there is a tiny bit more distortion then I guess I like distortion  (I mean I do enjoy a nice tube amp with my Empyreans)

I just ordered DT600 and a AQ0 from official store on Aliexpress. They are 50%-ish off. AQ0 is for my daughter and I hope they are as bassy as the signature looks.

How are the mmcx - USB-C cables on Ali ? Do they work good into an Ipad or phone? Any suggestions?

I read the CX 31993 as used in the JA3 has an unwanted sound. (i dont remember if it was ringing or hissing)

I guess you dont really think diferent DACs have different sound (or not enough difference so it really matters) and Im probably in the same boat normally but since you do need something anyways for a phone/ipad then I feel its best to try and find something totally neutral and background silent.

Its probably best as you say to find a dongle to be more free cable-wise. However Ali had a winter sale so I picked up both a USB MMCX cable and some dongles to try out together with an Apple one I have.

It has no such issues, the output impedance of it is lower than the well known Apple dongle at only 0.14ohm.

I'm not sure if anyone is aware but the AQ4 now has a MKII version. I bought a pair of AQ4's from the official Audiosense store on AliExpress last week after liking the sound recording on Dan's audio reviews on YouTube. They arrived yesterday and I was surprised to see that I received a MKII version. I asked Audiosense what the differences are compared to the original and they said "new sound better low frequency."

The DD in the original AQ4 wasn't very good. I wonder if they've upgraded it.
