AUDIOSENSE in-ear monitors Impressions Thread

Yah I sorta fell into the "quad DAC" hype on the V30, and really with a lesser headphone it's fine.... It's still a useful music device since it does have a SD card slot, plus I was able to pick one up used for $125. It is a nice device to stack with the Q5, so it all worked out.

Just to shake it up in here...

@Hi-Fi'er how does the Andromeda compare to the T800? Similar sound? Different? Better? Which did you own first?

I purchased the Andromeda's (new) first from the beginning of last year. The Andor's stink on a cell phone and I have yet to find or have anyone say it's better on LG or whatever than my DAP or any decent DAP. On a DAP with a pure dedicated designed low impedance amp is where it shines. A cell phone won't give you that and some won't hear the difference but it's there. A cell phone does not have a balanced out either. Even on a DAP I can hear the difference between SE and Balanced. Many will not hear the difference but there is one. A cell phone will never have a balanced out. I wonder why?

Someone already gave an impression comparing the two in the thread. I have not yet made a comparison.

Thank you kindly.

LG V30 isn’t in the same league as a mid tier DAP.

I’ve had the V30, V35 and V40.

I still own both at the moment.

I’m using silverfi iem-x cable and symbio tips on both.

I’m quite surprised by how well the T800 performs compared to the $1100 andromeda.

The treble details are almost there compared to the andromeda. Bass quantity is more on the andro but the T800 seems to go lower for me. Andro signature is slighter warmer. Wider soundstage on andro.

At this point I would be happy with just keeping the T800 and saving $$ selling the andro. But I plan to keep both.

I can read this either way. Are you saying the LGV30 is not as good as a mid tier DAP or do you mean the LGV30 is better?
Sorry, V30/V35/V40 simply cannot compete with a mid tier dap.

There are audible differences when using a DAP.

That's what I thought you meant. Me thoughts exactly! When cells phones go serious and have a balanced out with a 1 ohm impedance or lower and a dB of +120 or more I'll re-visit what they can really do. As of now, naw. Cheers!

Thank you Sir. Others are too caught up on their own to read I suppose.

Alright guys, back on track. Too much interpretation of emotions from text here about non audiosense products.

A while ago someone said you can't remove the stock filter from t800, and then there are some saying you can. So I contacted audiosense about this issue and they said that you can and even sent instructions on how to do it. Just to firm up the issue for future readers

In my attachments I have also added Knowles document on the effect of different dampers and the effect of depth of insertion. What is in the file coincides with what others here have measured, but with a heap more detail :)

Can you share the document here? I lost it in my PC somewhere :D Pretty interesting stuff regarding dampers, mainly the effect of insertion depth :)

In addition, due to the use of a vented BA driver, I added a 2.0mm bass vent to the T180 shell (as the shell has no bass vent). The low end is now bumped up and is more satisfying than it was without the vent.
Best area to add bass vent ?

Do you have any plans for insertion depth ?
