That's what i don't understand either! I would think that the vent would be for the DD bass, but according to the guy who reviewed it, the vent is for the custom Knowles BA.
This is what he wrote (Google translate though)
Sabbas - 10mm dynamic driver
Bass / midbass - paired Knowles 33618
Middle - paired custom Knowles (with vents
Top - paired Knowles 31736
I think its for the dd and maybe for the low range ba

I think he is wrong or google translate killed the translation lol. No reason for the BA to be vented if it isnt taking care of the bass. (at least I think so)That's what i don't understand either! Oh I get it. If the DD was the only one taking care of the entire low region, then the BA wouldnt need to be vented right? From my knowledge 2 of the ba are for bass

I love SSR. Has a unique, lively, forward tuning which also presents very good separation. Won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but for $40 an excellent iem. Another tasty flavor in the ear arsenal.Follow Moondrop regarding pre-release information given, NOT follow regarding tuning of the SSR, correct? I definitely agree about the pre-release information.

Audiosense rep has confirmed the driver setup:
Subbass - 10mm dynamic driver
Bass / midbass - paired Knowles 33618
Middle - Paired Custom Knowles with vents
Top - Paired Knowles 31736
4 way crossover
This has just made me more curious haha.
I will be ordering these as soon as they are available

lol, is this a case of where our norms are going to be shattered? Like when people said that the earth was spherical and not flat when everyone believed it was flat.Audiosense rep has confirmed the driver setup:

Actually a bass ba doesnt need to be vented. A vent on a bass ba trades some resolution against sub bass rumble. And not all bass ba have a vent. Some manifactors use the vent and some cover it. Depends on the tuning they want to achiev.Oh I get it. If the DD was the only one taking care of the entire low region, then the BA wouldnt need to be vented right?
Can't find any information for the Knowles 33618
So i cant see if it has a vent.
But a vented bass ba in combination with a dd in the sub bass would be to much i think the ba works more as a mid bass driver for drum kicks and such
