That's true but to be honest anyone can say they've heard this and that. I judge by people's owned gear as thats a more reliable of judging someone's experience level. Also demoing isn't always reliable if you get me so that's another reason. I do love the Dragonfly though, fantastic value.

Fair enough, but I can't help but notice you don't have any gear listed in your signature or on your profile page.

Just a quick question, anyone know any good amps for the Nighthawk under £1000 (around $1500) with balanced outs and xlr pre outs for active monitors as well? I already know of the Oppo ha1 and Schiit Mjolnir but was wondering if there were any others

Listening to Surprise (album) by Paul Simon today with X-Sabre --> Bottlehead Mainline and switching between Hawks and HD800s. Both sound sublime, but I'm noticing that the mids on the Hawks do feel a little closed-in after listening to the HD800s. However, the sense of overall engagement and emotion is much stronger with the Hawks and the HD800s sound a little empty and hollow in comparison. Suffice to say, both headphones sound great in their own ways and I love owning both, but they're very different beasts and that's why both are great.

EDIT: Despite fully appreciating the wonders of the HD800s, I still find myself reaching for the Hawks more often...
