AudioQuest NightHawk Headphone Unveiled Today

I local hifi store leaked this to me a few months ago. Granted, there were almost no confirmed details, and they asked me not to post online. I'm guessing it's safe now, but I'm also excited for their new dac/amp line that will be announced at CES.

Here's hoping that it will be a reasonable price. I really like the form and function, with any luck, they will sound as great as they look!

Guys they are definitely reading it so please keep your pricing suggestions reasonable.

Looks really big. Curious that even a CABLE COMPANY is getting into the flapship headphone game, wonder how it'll sound vs HD800 and SR-009.

Edit: "Liquid Wood" seems to be a mix of recycled wood+plant fiber+plastic. I'm calling it Plastiwood from now on.

There's a sexy headphone. I love suspension type headbands too. Interested in how these turn out.

Funny just it's aesthetics lead me to believe it will have a warm, fluid sound.
wood cans are usually like that, are they not? :D

  What is "CES"?

Will this headphone be on audition at the CanJam near L.A. early 2015?

Also I was able to sign up for email notifications on the mfg. link above for when this becomes available.

Consumer Electronics Show?
Kinda like E3 or something, but basically anything electronic.

Looks really nice...and AudioQuest is a good name who make good stuff. Very promising indeed.

I totally agree with MLE.  The plumpish leather pads and the dark color scheme give it the appearance of a warm headphone. Cheers to Audioquest and best of luck in the headphone business.

Can someone explain to me why Audioquest makes good valued hardware and then releases $1000 cables? This company is on both ends of great value and absurdity. I bet they will offer an upgrade option for the cable that will cost as much as the headphones.

Im surprised it took that long for someone to bring it up but more than likely most people will probably tell you that is a discussion for a different thread as this one is for people interested in reading about the headphone and not the other products the company makes
