There goes 1 person claims he has problem with fitting, the issue is as I feared the short nozzle... This usually vary case by case though.. so I think demo 1st is a must...
About it not being long though, some folks in IM series did have similar problem with their IM02, some fix it with adding one layer of a cut silicon bore to give extension (?) didn't reply catch what they mean, but you can check that thread for a probable fix.

I hadn't thought of trying to extend the nozzle, but I do have some Comply tips coming in. If the fit is still no good, I am probably sending these back instead of fiddling around, regardless of how good they sound at their current price point.

You can flip them and try the fit again. L to R and R to L. Raises the tube up higher some and should be tried.

Of course bending the memory wire right helps. You can be surprised that they may go a little deeper.

Don't know your ears but worth a try. I know that I look forward to a cable w/o a memory wire coming along sometime. And a bit shorter as I don't always need 1.6 meters.

Yes, I tried that last night but unfortunately there is no difference for me. I did bend the memory wire to a shape similar to my Epic cables, but I don't see how that would help with the fit issue, as the poor fit mainly stems from the short nozzle/raised nozzle base. For what it's worth, I removed the housing from the cables to see if I could get a good fit with just the housing, and still no go.

Sorry if I'm using any incorrect terminology!

Maybe, if you send them back, you can try out the Trinity Phantom Sabre though they won't be shipping till next month sometime. ~$85 right now which is the same price range as the $89 I paid for the E40 and they are also dual-phase drivers and come with both long and short tuning nozzles. Certainly much of the same appeal of the E40 would have.

I went for the pre-order myself as I haven't tried a Trinity phone out yet and the E40/Sabre comparison just needs to be done

Thanks for the heads up! If the Phantom's sound anything like the E40's and fit better, I would be thrilled with the $89 price.

Edit: I should also clarify that the short nozzle would not be a problem if the tip itself was longer. As it is, the silicone tip ends only about 2-3 millimeters away from the end of the nozzle. The foam tips on my Westones extend 7-8 millimeters away from the nozzle.

Which means it might get fixed with different tip?

Another good IEM from audio-technica. I would buy E40 to upgrade from IM50. Maybe not the best for female vocal presentation (but I considered E40 still great for me). I like everything on it

Does Havi have a detachable?
1 More: a bit hard to get a demo really... fakes everywhere...
Final I agree, but not for everyone, really.
As I asked, as a whole package, E40 is quite appealing
