I guess I'm lucky that way?

One-more-week anticipation bump.

Time to plan a trip to the electronics district. Without my wallet!

i really don't understand why the street price is always cheaper than the retail price for a new releasing product.

do street sellers steal the products to sell them cheaper

No those suggested retail price is far above what what you pay wholesale.

For example headphones that has a suggested retail price of $700 and the street price is $500.

Guess what I have news for you the suppliers buy them for $200 USD when buying wholesale.

Yup you heard correct.

Wow... new AT flagships? I wonder how the A2000X compares to the W5000 and L3000... The L3000 is good but the W5000 is crap, so this will be interesting. They sure look good.

Now tell us how you really feel!

The street price in Japan is always BS. AKG K701s are $900 or so here.

Now, do I have an excuse to trek into Yodobashi Camera to see if they have a demo pair. The store here is completely dumb, with no demo versions of most of the expensive cans. I might get lucky though, who knows.

Crap is definitely a strong word considering that I like my W5000 just as much as my Stax.

I agree with you there. Saying the W5000 is "crap" is way too harsh, sure it has it's shortcomings like it's pickiness and affinity with hi-end amps/sources.
But if paired properly(ala ATH-HA5000 or such) they will really shine. Then again i only have a pico to go by, but they aren't half bad!

just not your cup of tea doesn't mean it's pricey.
