Disarming how the forward midrange can, with certain recordings, seem to isolate/insulate vocals, for instance. With "Lost Woman" from the Yardbirds' Roger the Engineer [aka Over, Under, Sideways, Down] Keith Relph's vocal is rendered in a stark, almost "acapella" manner in relationship with the supporting instrumentation.
