There's a click for every volume step, that's how the relay works. Some steps are louder than others.

And yes, after playback you can get a click when the muting circuit kicks in. It's well documented, and is a protective feature.

Well, I'm officially joining the club.  Zach's old 28 is coming my way this week; hopefully it comes in before the long weekend.

My HE-560's are arriving on Friday too.  Should be an interesting musical weekend!

Awesome, congrats! Do you still have the he-4? I'm curious how they sound together...

Sorry, the HE-4 has left the building.  In fact, it paid for about half the NFB-28.  :-D  I have the HE-560 arriving on the same day as the NFB-28 so maybe that will help a little...

I'm curious to hear how the sabre pairs with HE-560. After some more listening I can see why people call it aggressive, it has a very forward punchy sound to it. I'm really digging it, though. Can't wait to try the LCD2's with it.

Just wanted to chime in and say that I really think I hear an appreciable difference between hearing this amp cold vs. after warming up/leaving it on accidentally. Smoother, blacker background... cold it sounds like the soundscape has been shattered. Warm is more organic. Since I really believe differences in gear are near minimal, it's strange to know that I can hear a difference between warm vs. cold!

Did you think I was nuts when I said that to you before?

Ditto.  I'm also a little worried it'll be too bright for my taste, but we'll see.  For the price, it'd be a shame not to at least give it a shot.

I definitely liked the sabre with the LCD-2, btw.

I still miss it a bit even though I have the Ref 10.32 now.  Should have just bit the bullet and kept it lol.
