I received my Nos 11 with Hdmi and firmware V2. I am burning it but I realize the sound is less warm and sound stage more opens after running 1 hour.

Mine didn't settle sonically down before +/-100 hours or so. You'll still be hearing some changes (thin sound, ...) before it finally settles down.

Sorry for my English skill, I mean after turn on Nos 11 about 1 hour. I bought the used Nos 11 fro my friend and ask him sent it to the dealer near his location to replace rj45 by hdmi and update firmware to V2. It took me more than 1 months and the dealer ask me to burn it about 50 hours.

You were 100% right. I got a 4-pin XLR to 2.5mm TRRS and plugged in my IEMs and like magic, the noise is gone! Thank you!

Glad to be of service.. enjoy your IEM driven by 16W per channel amplifier :)

Can someone please explain to me why the Master 11 is cheaper than the Master 7 when the Master 11 is supposed to be a combination of the Master 7 and Master 9.

I already own a top-rate valve headphone amp. I am most interested in the Master 7 to pair with my amp but would be prepared to lay down a bit extra cash to combine it with a good solid-state amp. But why is the combination cheaper than the DAC alone?

Is the Master 11 DAC inferior to the Master 7?

Hello guys, I'm soon to be a new member of the Master 11 family. Waiting very (im)patiently for my new unit to arrive via Jos @ Magna HiFi (who has been superb to deal with from start to finish!). Have read every page of the thread, looking forward to giving it a go.

I've seen no mention of anybody using this with my headphones, the Sony MDR-Z1R, any impressions at all out there? I've switched from having a very basic system within about a month, to moving to the Questyle CMA600i and Sony TA amps for these headphones - which I've only had for one month anyway - and have always fancied giving an Audio GD product a whirl. The Master 11 is hopefully my last HiFi / HeadFi related purchase for a very long time. Fingers crossed!

Cheers,
Chris

Okay, so to answer my own question:
1) It seems that the Master 11 comes with 4 PCs top grade R-2R PCM1704UK where as the Master 7 comes with 8 PCs. I'm not sure what difference that makes other than presumably more is better! and
2) The Master 11 uses 8 groups of high-quality class A parallels connection PSU whereas the Master 7 uses 22. So a better power supply?

+3) Power supply in Master 7 is dedicated for DAC, while Master 11 is using its power supply for preamp; headphone and dac purpose.

At this price the Master 11 is good, really good. The Master 11 Singularity is a slightly more expensive but improved spdif inputs. Digital board is re-designed using programmable chips and 2x TCXO's for both sample rate ranges 44.1 and 48. Interesting new development, these are the Singularity versions.

If I were to buy a Master 11 now, I'd be hard pressed to not get a Singularity 11, right? I think the upgradability makes it the best. I'm actually thinking about getting the +9dB Gain Option--I have a bunch of modded Fostex headphones which are HUNGRY (91dB sensitivity)! I'm getting excited just dreaming of this!

If you only use i2s (HDMI), you can get the old version or used item. But if you use another SPDIF, you should get the Singularity.

So I'm considering the NOSv2 upgrade (by Magna Hifi) for my Master11, I listen jazz and classical mainly. primary use with Marantz PM11S2 amp and Harbeth SHL5 speakers.. I am expecting improvements especially for solo piano recordings (classical), Jazz (trios, sax) and chamber music..
