Audio GD Master-11(Combination from Master 7 and Master 9)

So, I have the M11 with the HDMI i2s input option. I recently purchased a Singxer SU-1 USB Bridge, and the sound is amazing. Still burning in, but already a nice improvement over the Amanero (though the Amanero isn't a slouch). Anyway, from all my research about the PLL jumper, it sounds like with the PLL enabled (jumper off), the clocks inside the M11 are utilized to reclock the incoming signal. With PLL disabled (jumper on), it should be using the clock signal from the USB bridge as the master. Looking up the jitter values for the clock in the SU-1 look clearly superior to the values listed on the M11 web page.

Info on the SU-1:
SU-1 is the independent development low jitter clock digital system interface(CRYSTEK CCHD-575 SERIES).
Details at http://www.crystek.com/crystal/spec-sheets/clock/CCHD-575.pdf

Info on the M11: Master-Clock:
Clock Autodivide Circuit Supports four Master-Clock Frequencies : 256Fs、384Fs、512Fs、768Fs
Built-in two groups high performance PLL , supports low jitter Master-Clock output.
Details at http://audio-gd.com/Master/Master-11/M11EN.htm

After all that, the PLL enabled (jumper off) sounds MUCH smoother and more open which is exactly what I wouldn't expect. PLL disabled (jumper on) is edgy and quickly fatiguing.

Does anyone with more knowledge about PLLs and clocking have any thoughts?

How much of an improvement is it compared to Amanero? If you had to give a percentage?

I'm thinking of buying and wondering if the SU-1 is worth it?

I'd say 10% as of now.  The people on the SU-1 forum have suggested that there is a substantial improvement after 100-130 hrs of burn in.  I'm at around 50 hrs right now.  It was an improvement out of the box.

Cool. Keep us updated on if you hear any significant improvements after burn in!

I've got the SU-1 but I have the PLL disabled. Suits my ears more. As always with these things it's a YMMV.

I too can advocate on the Singxer's improvement over the Amanero.

Thanks Kingwa!

Is it possible to use this Altera blaster for DACs Reference One and Master 7?

Thanks again!

I just ordered this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/altera-Mini-Usb-Blaster-Cable-For-CPLD-FPGA-NIOS-JTAG-Altera-Programmer/200943750380?_trksid=p2054502.c100227.m3827&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D39375%26meid%3D6da4c90e810547edb41fe3ef446e56e0%26pid%3D100227%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D13%26sd%3D200943750380

For how low the price is, it almost feels too good to be true..

Seems like the website has been updated as well with some info on the new DSP:

"Upgrade the newest DSP V7 software which is design by Mr. He.
Support up to 384K , better neutral sound, better dynamic, better exact sound stage, better S/N, and better steady .
Don't like neutral sound?
You can setting different working modes, like 8X, 4X, 2X and NOS modes for got the smooth and warm sound"

I wonder if this DSP will solve the problem of channel imbalance when using the NOS mode on M11?
