So Cal
I'm torn between Audio GD C-2 amp and Schiit Lyre  Asgard.
I have Grado RS1, AKG K702 and Denon AH-D7000.
Which is better amp and synergy with headphones I have?

What issues have you considered so far in evaluating the two amps?

All my headphones need some midrange fullness or thickness.
The Grado RS1 and AKG K702 also needs that added bass impact (since they are lean on bass).

C-2. have the option of Moon OPA which gives the midrange fullness and bass impact.
On the other hand, Schiit Lyr being a tube amp has the midrange fullness and the option to roll tubes to find some added bass.

Well, I think you've answered your own question.  The Lyr kicks like a mule and it's a really nice match for the 702s and the RS1s.  The RS1s don't need to power but the 702s do and the RS1s would benefit from the tonal balance of the Lyr.

Funny...

I am considering selling my Asgard to get the Audio GD 2.1.....but wonder if it would be worth it....I mean, would the step be big enough to justify the
extra $$$...

Edited from Audio gd C-2 vs Schiit Lyr to Asgard.

The Asgard is a wonderful amp, but the Lyr does magic things for the AKG-K702
