Has anyone actually done a direct comparison between the (Original planar!) Wharfedale and the LCD-2?
The Wharfedale certainly sounds good, even at 40 years old; but wondering if the LCD-2 has improved on the starter!

Obviously age affects the mylar after time, I guess.
Would love to hear (literally too!)

I've heard both, but on different occasions and not in depth. They were my favourite headphones at the respective meets where I heard them. I couldn't begin to offer a comparison sadly.

Looks like no-one has compared them directly (so far....) though I'm sure SOMEONE must have?
Am happy with the Iso's sound, but the rave reviews of the LCD-2s pique the interest!

I finally have them both going here. It's a very nice comparison to make, as you thought :)

If you are still around, is there actually a problem with your Wharfedale Isodynamic? A buzz, maybe?

No; Wharfedales fine!
So? How's the comparison? Apart from difference in efficiency of course!
The LCD-2s get raves. But, that much better than the originators?
Have I saved myself $995? (-:
As I'm happy often with my 30+ year old bits, this would complete the picture!
(AS well as my Pass F3/Ocellia Calliopes!)
