Audeze Penrose X and Penrose

I have taken the time to check out a bunch more reviews on youtube, as well as a few written ones, and I am getting conflicting reports on the sound signature. Some say it is too dark, while others criticize it for being too bright lol. Now I can't even gauge if it is an impressive headphone compared to my regulars. What's the consensus on sound with stock pads?

I just lost out to some sennheiser HD560 on ebay,I need a 500 series un my life, just love the look of them.

I know it's not to everyone's taste, but just love the ivory coloured 599.

But you cannot get it in ivory with the 560,I love the sound of the 560,better that the 599 for me anyways.
The ivory 599 were the first pair of nice headphones I saw years ago on that got me interested in the hobby. I didn’t end up getting them though, I went for the K7XX first.

I used to have the ModMic wireless. It was great! I sold it after buying the penrose since I hadn’t used it in a while. So I don’t have a mic for the 560s at the moment. I’ll pick one up if the Penrose ever fails. Either the uni or the wireless again.
Theres a mic on amazon thats made for Sennheisers. It plugs into the headphones like the Vmoda boom pro.

@Evil Deadly I’m having trouble finding it on Amazon. Would you be able to link to it?

Unfortunately after almost two years of ownership, my Penrose broke too. Seems like a weak point in the band. This sucks :frowning2:

These were really great headphones, but I don’t think I can justify purchasing a pair every ~2 years. I wonder if this can be fixed.
