Audeze Mobius review / impressions

But, is it normal that it start giving me the "Battery low" warning about 35%, continuous (maybe every minute) and after 5/10 minutes it power off?
Does your headset charge above 35%? It might be an issue with the USB cable. I've never had that error

Yes, up to 100%.
But it is not the first time that it alert me "battery low" and it switches off after 5 minutes. Then, as soon as I reconnect it with the USB cable, Audeze HQ tells me that it is 30/35%.
It happened a few times, the other times I didn't notice.

I use that active delock cable too.

And i solved my 2nd problem: the USB-C port on that headset is close to broken. Its the weakspot. So i bought this magnetic USB-C cable (2m) on Aliexpress. Now everytime the cable is stuck it simply disconnecs. Its more like a weak spot on purpose.

At example: https://www.amazon.com/Magnetic-Detachable-Connector-Bluetooth-Headphone/dp/B07DGPY898

Are you still happy with your cable from Aliexpress? I've been looking at some options on Amazon (Canada) but all are either badly reviewed or fake reviews claiming it's the best product ever

hi, can i use a magnetic cable to charge the moebius? if its a cable that moves data, can i use it to listen music too?
If you refer to a USB C cable that connects to an adapter that you stick in the USB entry on the headphones, I use it on a daily basis with no problem.

Hey everyone,

Does anyone know if we can use a different mic for Mobius?

e.g. swap out original mic and connect Modmic v5 Modular instead

My initial guess is no. The Mobius' mic has a flat plastic part that fits into the headset, to align it properly. I tried plugging a regular 3.5mm cable in the mic spot, and it didn't fit. If your mic is small profile (doesn't have a thick or even normal-sized rubber piece around the connector), it might be able to plug in but I don't know how well it would stay in place.

I don't know the correct terminology, but you can kind of see the flat part on the right hand size of the image, where there is a little bit cut out below the actual plug.

So, finally I've got the biggest Bluetooth dongle-ever!
Sony STR-DN1080 oh my....
For bloody LDAC sake!
Moreover, I forced to mate them :3
All goes almost as I wanted, except for one thing: I have no freaking idea, what exact BT-protocol are they enjoying themselves.
This receiver natively supports LDAC both RX and TX.
Moebius declared to support LDAC too.

So, the question is: HOW COULD I KNOW, WHAT EXACT BT-protocol ARE MOEBIUS USING NOW?

10 minutes later...

Oh, wait, I am not a complete retard!
For a reason unknown , among the tons of wastepaper, Sony provides it's products, there were not a single line about BT options.
Still, there is simple and elegant solution, available on their own site: https://helpguide.sony.net/ha/strdn108/v1/en/contents/TP0001221203.html

In LDAC Hi-Res mode, the 3D in Mobius will automatically switch off. Check if your 3D/Headtracking is still working. This is an easy way to check if the Mobius is in LDAC or not.

Thnx for the answer.
I guessed that Hi-Res supposed for LDAC.
Pure high-res good-old stereo with wireless flavor is the only reason, I got my hands on Moebius.

AS for my case, Moebius are the front end, they are just receiving whatever signal comes.
And Sony 1080 has strict options for TX: AAC or LDAC, hallelujah!

Still, I'd pay you extra if on-board Bitchin' Betty would comment, when BT-protocol is changing.
May I suggest this feature for next firmware update?

Maybe next generation Mobius. There is no memory and we have squeezed every little space out.
p.s - The voice is not computer generated. It was recorded at Audeze and she is a Jazz singer and composer.

I would happily have the muse eq preset voice replaced with a series of short beeps if that meant added/replaceable presets to facilitate custom eq from the hq app. Even if just in stereo
The memory limitation is more to do with the voice cues taking up a lot of memory and not because we can't add more presets, the parameters themselves don't take much space.

Regarding custom EQ there is no point in doing it unless we can expose a 10 brand eq that will work on top of the flat tuning. But the DSP does not have the processing power to do 10 bands on top of the 8 channel processing and the ptesets right now but things can change in the future on optimizing existing algorithms.

Congrats!
You just sold me Moebius II!
If you will make this happen, I have no choice, but to throw money @ Audeze once again.

Onboard B'Betty is my soft spot :3
Please, make BT-protocol approve happen.

One more thing: if you could add APTX (with all it's flavors) on board, you'll get a significant +% to sales, because APTX is most common BT protocol for audio-lovers.

And one last thing: I'd pay you extra + extra for shiny, sturdy polished metal instead on cheap soft-touch plastic.
You can decorate it however you want, but please, make main axis and cans connecting joints out of metal.
Current creaky plastic is hopeless even with exorbitant Krytox and drives me mad.
