Audeze Mobius review / impressions

They are really good, they won lots of awards etc. and were designed with gaming in mind.

I just got my Mobius a week ago and man...I have to say I am super impressed.

The sound via USB and LDAC is really, really good - I like the Default and Flat profiles the most. I would use the 3D mode only for gaming and movies I guess, but I may have to experiment more with it.
I also tried the geld pads and they were not comfortable on my (big) head, so I returned them. They applied some pressure which was not a good feeling. Soundwise they may improve the isolation and bass a bit, but nothing I would trade the comfort of the stock pads for.

One problem I found is that the LFE channel can´t be heard with 3D Off via USB 8-channel mode(I think this was already reported in this thread, but I hoped for a fix.). I have ordered the Mobius Windscreen and hope to improve the mic-quality a bit, which is not the strength of the headset.

When I consider that you get a good sounding DAC/AMP and headset for this price, that can be used at home and mobile and is very versatile, I think that I have found a real winner with the Mobius. I nearly skipped to try it, because I don´t game that much anymore, but I really love its sound when listening to music.

Anyone measured how loud these are when using with Windows 10 and USB? At like 10% volume or 20% volume. Could be fun to know how loud they are(in db). I dont own a db-meter and safe levels would be good to know. As they are selfpowered they should be equally loud on all computers?

I personally would rate them a 10/10 for gaming. They sound amazing, and I noticed small details in all sorts of games that I missed before. The microphone is clear, especially with the pop filter (included in new models, or can be ordered for free from audeze). I like having both headphone output and mic input volume controls on the headset itself, although it can be kind of tricky to remember all the controls (although I mostly run into issues with bluetooth, trying to remember which control to play/pause and go to next song).

I personally think the clamping force is a bit too strong, but I can still wear these for hours in a row.

Tell me something please??

in music how good are mobius??

I'm not sure if you're lazy or just not used to forums. There are many answers on this page (and previous pages) to that question. You can also do a quick google search to find many many reviews. In your previous messages, you specifically said "look for music i am not interested", so I answered your gaming question.

This is intentional and is the correct way to fold down 5.1 to stereo based on ITU Specification.
Here is the relevant info from ITU
From https://www.itu.int/dms_pubrec/itu-r/rec/bs/R-REC-BS.775-3-201208-I!!PDF-E.pdf:
Even when listening to broadcasts transmitted in surround sound much of the audience continues to use only two loudspeakers, whether for cost reasons, or practicalities of installation. These listeners hear a down-mix, where the centre channel and surround channels are mixed into the front left and front right channels (to an extent controlled by metadata in the broadcast audio stream). Figure 9 shows how this is done in the receiver. The attenuations shown as 3 dB are just examples, and the actual values are under the control of the broadcaster, sent as metadata in the audio stream. The LFE channel is not included in the down-mix.

In terms of sound quality difference, I feel that the Cloud Orbit S has slightly elevated sub-bass, while the upper-treble has slightly less presence. Even after over 30 hours burn-in, the difference seems obvious for my ears to detect. Perhaps it’s just a batch difference, or it might be an audio engineer’s decision to tune up the lower frequencies a little. I reckon the Cloud Orbit S tuning fits the target consumers, but nevertheless the difference is really minor, my ears would get used to either headphones after a while and almost could not tell much difference.

My full review can be read here.
Tuning is the same. We did change the EQ profiles in earlier batches, but it has been unchanged for a while

And that's software dependent, correct? Earlier batches updated to latest software would have identical tuning to Mobius, correct?

I ask because I'm having troubles with my Mobius order and if I don't solve them I was considering getting a Cloud Orbit S.
