Audeze Mobius review / impressions

So let say I bought the Smith realiser A8, and I use someone else measurements. How do I hook up my headphone? Do I hook up the Realiser to my PC via HDMI? then hook up my headphone to the Realiser?

There is a dedicated Smyth Realiser A16 thread here https://www.head-fi.org/threads/smyth-research-realiser-a16.807459/

The previous A8 thread here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/418401/long-awaited-smyth-svs-realiser-now-available-for-purchase

The Smyth page here http://www.smyth-research.com

Both units have 1/4 headphone jacks and the a16 has usb and toslink outputs as well. But instead buying the a8 without using your own measurements you'd probably be better served by the Mobius or dspeaker headspeaker.

Don't they have the ability to take a different prir and apply it to your own?

The Realiser is an expensive product, $2000+? But does represent most of the technology available for loudspeaker virtualization. The new Realiser A18 would require a 15.1 speaker setup, either catch a demo at a convention, find someone with that setup, or build the system yourself, the AVR/prepro alone will run you $2-3000 xD.

A 15.1 setup isn't required. I'm actually looking forward to just being able to get the sound of my stereo setup.

Myself and some others have low volume on the PS4. I posted about it and @Audeze responded. Here is their post with mine just before it: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/audeze-mobius-review-impressions.887808/page-75#post-14505319

OTOH, BT volume gets painfully loud for me in high-res mode.

Thanks to the user who posted the 2.1 switch advice. Finally got sound out of the mobius. Still, very low volume. I’m going to box these up and sell them FWIW, volume did get loud enough through my ipad, but I got no sense of planar bass at all. Oh well off to the next thing. Thanks guys.[/QUOTE]

Can anyone recommend a good and affordable 3 foot USB-C to USB-C cable with a flexible cable for portable use connected to phone in pocket? The stock one is too stiff and long, ahem.

There are quite a few nylon braided ones on Amazon and they look like they might be flexible...can anyone attest to flexibility of a particular product?

but I got no sense of planar bass at all.

Planar bass is extension to 10hz and 0 distortion while still maintaining a smooth bass to mids transition. Hit it with a 5db low shelf filter at 80hz and play a song or track with 20-40hz sub bass and rejoice.

Oh great, it's incompatible with Win7??! I didn't read anything about that on the produck page:

"Do I need any special software for this to work? No, this is not an encode/decode system. Mobius is designed specifically to provide you with the ease of a plug and play setup. There is a software application for Windows that can be used to customize the headphone audio for those that so choose. This will work without any need for external software. However, the special Mobius Creator edition will require the plugins for VR and AR content creation. These will work with Windows, Macintosh, Linux, and Android (with correct USB audio drivers in use)."

I'm on win7, been using for weeks with no problems.

@ Audeze... I am really liking the blue tooth connection to the Apple TV 4K for movies and audio playback... is there any possibility that you guys can add Airplay 2 to the Mobius so more than one person can sit and listen at the same time... thanks
This is difficult. But with a Mac (OSX) you can create a multi device and two or even more people can watch using Bluetooth.

@Audeze , as far as features go, is there any definitive ETA on the Mobius app being released for OSX yet? I'm keen to play around with it a bit and put in my measurements, etc.

Why are you interested in hiding the logo out of curiosity?

And I'm genuinely curious if you were serious at all about your comment about not accepting the shipment when it arrives due to bad reviews?

I've still not received mine (paperwork, Audeze says) so am still taking notes on how i should set mine up once i fet it.

Yes, I was serious, why wouldn't I be?

I'm glad to hear they may have fixed the mic issue, though. That was one of my main concerns.
It definitely sounds fixed to me. Did you see the demo a page or two before this one? They had their voice recorded before the fix and then after the firmware update and it sounds drastically better than it did.
