Luckily, my wife is very cool :D She even made an account and made fun of the subject.

Dude... your wife is totally cool. LOL.

I see she has the same philllosophy as my wife: "Your wallet is our wallet, but don't be confused my wallet is still my wallet..."

It depends. If your bringing home $200k + and she's a stay at home wife, then she can't say $&@$. That, unfortunately, is not my situation :p

No, no young grasshopper. Do not be confused. It does not matter how much money you earn. A wife will always dictate what is appropriate spending. You can be schitting out $10,000 gold nuggets every morning for all she cares. Each nugget is hers and she will count them every morning to make sure you don't take one on accident and spend it on yourself. LOL.

Now if you find a woman not like this. Do no think yourself lucky. She's either too young to have apprenticed under an older wise woman, or she's is in fact not a woman but a man.

Amazing insight!  It's funny.  I have had the same situation.

Yes. It's hard work to train a stubborn man or a horse, but almost any husband can be trained to see "reason". LOL

(I've been fully trained/whipped obviously) This certification means I understand about 10% of my wife, which is 10 times more than I started from.

You are very wise...

In case anyone is interested, innerfidelity.com posted the LCD-X measurements. They are excellent (as I've come to expect from Audeze):

The one thing that initially jumped out for me is the 300Hz square wave plot is the best I've seen from an Audeze headphone. Notice how the square wave settles right down after the first overshoot. On the LCD-2 there were 2 overshoots, both about the same; and it was improved on the LCD-3 (though still there to a lesser degree). On the LCD-X, looks to be completely cured. It can partly explain the amazing imaging and instrumental separation that I'm hearing with the LCD-X.

Thanks for the link!

Comparing to LCD-2, the FR seems to be more flatter on the LCD-X, which is nice. The THD+noise on the LCD-X is higher, though.

I personally do not see them as great, looking at the 2 - 10 khz area... I would personally still buy the LCD-3 without hesitation if I had to (buy an Audeze headphone).

I think you'll need to look again and also read this article first:

http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/expert-tests-innerfidelitys-headphone-measurement-repeatability-and-reproducibility

The measurements on top are an average of 5 readings over 5 positions on the dummy head. Look below to see the individual readings on top of each other.

Between the 2-10kHz, they are very close, no doubt about it. But the improved 300Hz square wave plot is very encouraging to see. I've owned my LCD-3s for 2 years now and still love them to death, but the LCD-X are very impressive headphones for sure and one of the best I've heard yet.

Have a look at the THD+noise for the same headphones measured several times...this measurement can be affected by any ambient noise. As I mentioned, they are excellent IMO (FR response, 30Hz and 300Hz square waves, and THD).

Are you planning on keeping them both or are you trying to figure out which one you're going to give up?

I can say that both are outstanding headphones and you couldn't go wrong with either one.

The LCD-Xs are much heavier than the 701s but the headband in absolutely no way feels as bad as that 701 bump, in my case.  I have the vegan X's.  That said, a plusher padding on the headband to match the earpads would be a great addition.

Microsuede is very comfortable for long periods, agreed.

I have had no quality issues at all with the X's and I'm pretty sure I have one of the first off the line.  Great headphones so far.

Good to hear! Did you get the gunmetal or black? I see they have a wait list on the Grey so I may just get the black. And if so, do you like the way it looks?
