Take a look at my avatar photo. Honestly I have, what to me is an awesome presentation, with just 5 band eq adjustment, the portable tube sound, and the stock Shanling m8 sound. I'd choose this over cipher for detailed listening day in and day out. I sit back and just enjoy details down to deep bass. So, EXACT Audeze eq isn't necessarily required for great soundThe Mojo2 only supports bass and treble shelf EQ filters. The i4 needs band filters in certain areas, which the Mojo2 doesn’t have. So it is not possible to even remotely replicate Audeze’s cipher/preset EQ correction on the Mojo2.
That's the problem about niche products. If they are not profitable the producer and the dealers fastly loose interest in the product itself and the accessories. For years I've tried to get a replacement for my broken cipher cable (in my oppinion of low quality compared to the i4) . Given the price of this product audeze acts unfair with regard to accessories. On the other side, using a first class android player (I have a fiio m15) with USB Audio Player Pro with its great Param. EQ, sounds way better than any Iphone with cipher cable. And you get independent from Audeze.. at least as long as the IEM don't let you down.I honestly wish I could find a cipher cable for sale. That’s one of the main reason that I don’t use the i4 with my iPhone.
i4 was out of stock at some point along with cable but I would assume now that they are back the cable should be too.If you contact audeze, do they not sell you one?
They discontinued the wired Cipher to lightning cableIf you contact audeze, do they not sell you one?
Get an EQ with reveal? I'm pretty sure the cipher settings are on itThey discontinued the wired Cipher to lightning cable
I have an ISine cipher cable as a backup and can’t really tell much of a difference sound-wise between that and the i4/i3 Cipher cable.
You can regularly find iSine 10’s with Cipher (and sometimes with Cipher Bluetooth cable also) for under $200. Keep the Cipher cables and resell the iSine iem.
Of course you can do the same with an i3 if you find one on EBay since the Cipher cable is the same for i3/i4.
Here's a target EQ curve for LCDi4s and LCDi3s developed by our director of signal processing, which should give a similar effect to the DSP inside the Cipher cable. They don't share the same frequency response.
