Not a good interpreter but all these seem to have greater variance than I thought. Then again, above 6k is questionable, right?Reminds me, I never got around to posting mine (Production date April 2022)

Would this be an indicator of unit to unit variance (in manufacturing speak), or does it just show a change in manufacturing at some point? Not a good interpreter but all these seem to have greater variance than I thought. Then again, above 6k is questionable, right?
It would be nice if Audeze could chime in and let us know if the change is coming from variation in the driver, or the pads. (My money is on changes in the pads).

Cool, I'll keep that in mind. I gather that's on top of Roon EQ preset?Yep. On mine, I bring 3.6kHZ down in Roon EQ about -3db, and then a bit of bass boost. Makes the LCD-5's really sweet.

I think it's just driver variance. The differences do not seem enough to show an actual design change. Luckily, they do work to match the left and right drivers for each pair.

I tried it on top of the Roon preset, but I determined I don't like the Roon preset. It makes it sound too hollow for my liking so I don't use it.Cool, I'll keep that in mind. I gather that's on top of Roon EQ preset?
No idea. They all track similarly for 22 models so far. Pre 22 needs more examples, but I don't know if those differences are enough to sound different from one another.Would this be an indicator of unit to unit variance (in manufacturing speak), it does it just show a change in manufacturing at some point?

I will add that if my old drivers graphed like Doug's with the higher 3kish peak, I am guessing this may be why less bass shelf was needed right around the time I got the replacememts and after the monoblocks. But, this is all speculation.
What happened with your drivers? Did you have a driver failure?I will add that if my old drivers graphed like Doug's with the higher 3kish peak, I am guessing this may be why less bass shelf was needed right around the time I got the replacememts and after the monoblocks. Yes in Sept. Only one I have seen though. What happened with your drivers? Did you have a driver failure?
How did it manifest itself? Just curious. Just one day one side was dead or something?Yes in Sept. Only one I have seen though.
Yeah. How did it manifest itself? Just curious. Just one day one side was dead or something?
Yeah.
Same thing happened with my LCD-4z. I'm sure keeping my fingers crossed for my LCD-5's.

"There haven't been any revisions to the LCD-5 driver, tuning, or major revisions to the other components that might make for a differing Frequency response so far."
There you go guys, straight for the horses mouth to quash any speculation.
Counting the days 'till I hear mine, really looking forward to them and hope they put a big tick in the box!
