I have the following problem with my combination of E50 and L50.
I hear a hum on the right side which is interspersed from the E50.
As soon as i put my hand on the E50, the hum is gone .
Grounding the case extra does nothing.
Channel switched, the hum does not hike, it seems to lie on the LCD-5...
Hasn't anyone here reported a similar problem before?

I've seen others post about picking up weird noise from cell phones and grounding issues, like another user with the TT2 hum. What's up with the lcd 5 that makes them prone to these issues? I haven't heard of these kinds of issues on other planars. StrangeI have the following problem with my combination of E50 and L50.

The LCD-5's are super susceptible to earthing feedback due to the sensitive films within the earpieces. You yourself have become a Grounding mechanism. You will need to slowly go through your system to see if you can find the stem of the issue, probably cables linking audio units if the cases don‘t do anything to indicate currently if touched, and work from there to re ground. It was a nightmare on the TT2/MScaler combo.

It has nothing to do with the cable. I have a second cable with a 6.3mm jack. The same problem. interestingly, 2 days ago, I had no problems with this equipment at this socket...
Your interconnecting cables to the units in your system.

Interesting is the fact that the problem exists both in balanced and in single-ended mode (as with common ground)...
Here in the living room, by the way, the problem is hardly noticeable.
I only touch ground once somewhere, and apparently take care of potential balance, and the hum is gone...

It's not just the LCD-5, I have the same problem with the LCD-i4. Both happen with the Chord Hugo 2, Hugo TT, and Hugo TT2.I have the following problem with my combination of E50 and L50.

iFi Goundhog or Defender will fix it; I'm currently using the iDefender 3.0 on the USB between my TT2 and Mac mini. Hum is gone.
The TT2 and MScaler are not grounded and neither are their Power Supplies. Therefore, if the units are not connected within a system that is already grounded you will encounter the 'Hum'. As Cantara256 stated, one need to take care of Grounding oneself by using independent Grounding items to resolve the issue.

I've grounded the case to no avail. There was no USB connection.
Strictly speaking, these devices must not be grounded, because they have a certain protection class, which does not provide for grounding of the housing.
Nevertheless, I can of course understand that it is done. If it solves a problem.

Does it have RCA inputs? The Groundhog can be hooked up to various connectors, there should be one that works for your situation: https://ifi-audio.com/products/groundhog/I've grounded the case to no avail. There was no USB connection.
Worst case you can use optical instead of USB, though that may limit you to 24 bit/96 kHz audio.

Bud, it has nothing to do with the USB connection.

As I said, particularly noteworthy is the fact that the a hum only on one side appearance, despite common ground...
