I can certainly see why once in a while you and I have differences of opinion on equipment given the completely different music we listen to lol...like the sol p
Yeah, genre preference really does affect how one feels about headphones for sure. There should be a banner under our avatars that lists our preferred genres. Somebody like me who listens mainly to metal and hip-hop are looking for a different sound than somebody that likes jazz or classical. The only headphones we all appear to agree on are the TCs, which says something.

Perhaps the LCD-5 are like that. I don’t know. I have the CRBNs, which apparently sound similar to the LCD-5s. The CRBNs don’t beat the TCs in my mind though.

Also, with metal, the further you drill down, the wider you get. From near classical medolic styles to metal and hip hop fusion. They are all metal, but so different.

Completely agree that preferred genres impact one's impression of any given headphone, although I don't necessarily see any correlation between metal and hip hop.

But no, for the record, we all do not agree on the TC. That headphone has plenty of detractors here and elsewhere, myself included.

Bass and dynamics are similiar and both are aggressive sounding.

Well, then “most” of the people I disagree with on certain headphones like the TCs. We have classical music guys, metal people, classic rock folks, etc. I haven’t seen another pair of headphones with that kind of range on head-fi.

my allman brothers profile picture gives away my taste in music along with jazz and blues and a smattering of classical..regarding the TC, while yes they are people who do not care for it I do believe that it is probably the most unanimously praised of all of the TOTL HP's we all own and discuss here...along with the susvara

I listen to a pretty wide variety of genres, but I never limit what I'm listening to for a particular headphone. All genres all the time for all headphones for me.
Until you try hip-hop out of the SR1as

I love the sr1a, think it could be the best HP I won but I can easily understand why it wouldnt be first choice for hip-hop which I do not listen to

Replaced the headband: extremely easy operation, requires just a minimum of dexterity.
The clamping force is decidedly less, for me it was comfortable even before, but in this way it becomes almost a pillow. The sound? However credible a non-direct comparison may be, it seems the same. The right seal is, in any case, assured.
As a plus, I believe it can also induce less mechanical stress on the pads, increasing its longevity.

Thanks to Audeze for the free upgrade.
