I asked them the cable length question in an email, they told me 8 feet and terminated to 1/4 yes.  Pretty sure he said copper as well.

They did the exact same thing on the Beyer T1...and spent an extra two cents on the 800 cable...
 
The 4-pin XLR was installed to encourage the experiment of various wire.....EASILY!

Similar yes, the one on the TPs is Mogami. Without the tech flex it isn' t microphonic..the LCD-2 doesn't have any of that techflex on it. 
 
For stock cable it doesn't get any better honestly.

I completely agree.  It is a very smart choice.  Very durable, no nonsense, and does not cost a fortune. In fact, my speakers are using the 12awg version of this cable.  I have absolutely no plans of changing cables, but then again, I am a Bluejeans Cable kind of guy, so take that for what it's worth.
