I'm quite dumbfounded why do they make it open backed, at the very least make 2 versions of it. I can't listen to this while on the airplane or commuting, the sound might leak and the size is huge by IEM standard.
My LG v10 has a better DAC/Amp than the cable, and i have a nice selection of apps on android.. Dont see what i am missing not having a digital cable...
I guess the pre-orders are all spoken for. Their site says "sold out". All the press says pre-order on there site and there is no place to order. Patience, something I'm not very good at.
Well comparing IEMs' to full size headphones is kinda like comparing apples and oranges. Still, I get what you're saying. Hope these IEMs trickle down some of that planar goodness
Not the fist planer IEMs. oBravo erib-2a ($899) was. I heard it last year at RMAF and it sounded pretty good. The AMT version, the EAMT-3a ($2399) was even better.
Android has had external USB OTG DACs forever. There is no difference between using USB or lighting other than lightning being proprietary along with an apple stigma. The only reason why we don't see micro USB/USB C headphones is because android devices have and will continue to have a 3.5mm jack

I'm super curious about how these sound. I feel like they wouldn't be usable on stage, A) because they draw too much attention, and B) I'm actually worried the high SPLs of being in front of a trumpet or next to a cymbal would actually rupture this kind of driver, maybe? I do kind of like the idea of the open-backed IEM as some gigs I don't get enough ambience from stage mics and would like to hear more of that sound, but of course JH and others have vented versions of their IEMs that allow that. For the price, I might wind up picking up iSine10s or 20s in the next year just to hear them.
