While I don't know what Audeze's official policy on repair vs. replace is, I don't think they would charge you "extra" if they decide to replace your headphones in for repair with an updated version.
I don't recall seeing any posts where that's occurred in any of the Audeze threads.
Okay. Good. Thank you I guess I buy an EL8 see how it works out and then if a warranty issue arises send them to Audeze for warranty after the 2.0 comes out. I spoke with someone a few days ago on this thread that had an old stock EL8 he/she said something about Audeze wanting around $150 to upgrade the drivers to the new stock of EL8 drivers. That is why I ask. Kind of seems like a bad deal. I believe the person was in warranty, but Audeze was considering it an upgrade and not a warranty maybe? The person also liked the sound of the old stock drivers so instead just kept them as they are. There were no problems with the headphones.
