A member said the he400i is overall better than the el8 all fronts. Member named Chowmein?

No kidding, 83 pages of posts in less than a week. Glad to hear some impressions starting to roll in, though I've gotta say I think I may just choose to hold off until Audeze announces the Z, assuming they do. I'm looking forward to more end game gear, but it's good to see they are getting into the portable market.

Yes I hope the folk at Audeze do release the LCD-X sometime soon.

Y not LCD-Y?

Y not LCD-Y?

The headphone Audeze's been teasing has a planar driver with a whopping 1200 ohm impedance. I think people have been calling it the Z because Z is the symbol for impedance. At least that's why I like the name, maybe it's just me

I'll reserve the name LCD-Y in case it's a whopping failure (it won't be, audiophiles will buy literally anything).

Based on my observations of the closed EL-8 and some other people's observations, I'd have to agree with this.

Actually wasn't it just 'Prototype Z'?

Wonder if it has the same 'Uniforce Diaphragm' tech as the EL-8 but with dual sided 'Fluxor' magnet structures?

At least we can keep reading 100 posts a day about the EL-8 until we know more. :D
