We happen to think the CRBN looks outstanding next to our BHSE and of course it’ll undoubtedly sound even better! Tho we excitedly await hearing everyone’s first hand impressions soon!!!

The SRM-D10 seems to drive it easily, but it wouldn't be my first choice. The SRM-353X we use in the measurement rig because it's solid state. We just picked up the SRM-353X from HeadAmp, so I haven't spent any time listening to it.

Of the amps we have, without a doubt, the CRBN was best driven with the Frank Cooter amp, to my ears. The Frank Cooter amp is at the office (it's HUGE, and I have nowhere to place it in my rather small home), so at home I use the STAX SRM-007tII.

I'd love to hear it on the HeadAmp Blue Hawaii, and will do that at a CanJam just as soon as I can. That amp has impressed me every time I've heard it.

Again, while the SRM-D10 can drive the CRBN, I'd recommend a better amp if you have the means.

Right on -- there is actually a used SRM-353X at HeadAmp right now (they're sold out on new) that's cheaper than the SRM-D10, so perhaps that might be considered the entry-level amp for CRBN anyway.

It's a shame they keep using that headband. It does not fit my head. One of the metal strips on top always contacts my head at an angle and never both of them at the same time.

Pelican rolling cases. They look official enough that everyone assumes you're doing something really important and don't bother you.

If you're in a restricted area you might also want to carry a clipboard.

Can any of those who know comment on how nicely the CRBN might play with the recommended converters (as opposed to the dedicated estat amps), if the converters are paired with solid and respectable high end-ish amps?

I particularly want to know how the IFi might play with a good SS or Hybrid Headamp. Comments on Converter + Speaker amp pairings are also welcome.

Bottomline, I would like to avoid the use of a converter if that option entails too much of a compromise in the SQ department.

I already have a great electrostatic amp. The RSA A-10 Thunderbolt that for some reason has never got much love here in the forums but I personally prefer over the BHSE with my SR-009.

Based on Jude’s description of this new headphone it seems like it could be a nice match with my amp so this could be my first Audeze headphone ever (over 17 years in HeadFi).

I have always stayed away due to weight, reliability and sound consistency between same model but I guess I may take a leap of faith with this one .

I wonder how they’d work with the Bottlehead Tube Energizer. That one is fairly affordable as E-stat energizers go.

I’d probably lean towards something solid state myself though. Anyone ever used the iFi iESL? I’d worry that the transformer-coupled output stage would add audible noise, but it would be convenient to have the same amp that could handle both Electrostatic and traditional headphones.

Very very currious about the timbre of these. Timbre has been my main completely with every audeze I've tried, but the LCD-R absalitely fixed that issue for me. Here is to hoping the crbn is on LCD-R/raal levels of timbre (or maybe hope it isn't so I dont need to buy an energizer)
