Yeah we're working on the amp with an Electrical Engineering firm "Sonnare" to hopefully bring it to market fairly soon.  It's an OTC (transformer coupled) tube amp with 4p1l rectifier tubes, a 6sn7 input tube, and a 12ax7 gain stage tube meant to drive both planars and dynamics, it'll have a dual tap system, one out for high impedance one for low, at least that's the plan.     I will certainly update as we get closer, but yeah, it won't be out for a short while, hopefully not too long!

Is this the amp? Sweet

Probably a variation of that amp. The tube configuration on that isn't the same as what Zach mentioned.

Looking forward to hearing it! If it doesn't come out for a while, that's fine by me. (Wallet needs time to recover.) Hehehe

I believe Zach's amp is fairly far away from release. I hope it goes well, he seems to have a really good grasp on what would make the amp great.

The subject was touched upon a few pages back, I believe Zach hopes to have significant progress made before the end of the year, or at least he did a few weeks ago when we spoke about it.

I legitimately had a dream last night that I checked the google doc Zach offered us and the status had changed from matching parts to assembly stage. Not sure if I was so happy it woke me up or if that was just the baby. Must have been that review from pacotaco got me all excited :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

That HP amp on the Sonnare website is beautiful (and priced accordingly). My dream version of it would have preamp outs & at least 1 add'l input (I can dream, can't I?).

Gotta say: ZMF (the company & the headphones) has interested me for some time. I'm even more interested now w/the launch of 2 flagship headphones (Atticus is probably my end-game headphone) + this talk of a ZMF HP amp. Exciting times!

Forgot to post this last night: http://www.head-fi.org/products/zmf-headphones-eikon/reviews/17373 enjoy!

Thanks! I had preordered a Cherry Eikon and Pauduk Atticus. I am still finding my preference as a new person into Hifi, so dark and a neutral headphones combined with my Angie II will shape my preferences.
