The Atticus and Eikon are both great headphones for rocking out, very energetic and engaging. My question to everyone is what song or genre or artist makes you stop what you're doing and crank the volume?
For me it's mostly 80s/90's metal. Anything from the early catalogs of Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, etc. I have my Atticus in the office today and I've been absolutely killing my hearing with Iron Maiden's Live After Death album. At this point in my life I just don't care how deaf i'll be in a few years haha.
Thank you! With all due respect to the FAW team: I’m a big fan of Trevor’s, so I’ll probably go with a Vygarde if budget allows, alternatively his lower wire-count new option.
Overall, Eikon. BUT there are albums whose sound I prefer through Atticus. I do not ‘EQ’ so I make a mental note as to Atticus v Eikon when I put in a particular CD…
Agreed, and thanks for sharing the great photo! Your color choices look very, very similar to what I’d looked at for a future Vygarde order.
As of a couple of days ago, Norne’s site showed Vygarde as out of stock, but I won’t be able to get more gear until July anyway, so I figure Trevor may get more silver wire in by then.
This is either the end of the story...or just the beginning.
To make this a dramatic (if very short) story, just two more sentences are needed (I'll make it autobiographical):
"The next morning I woke up and found a 'Dear Pharmaboy' note taped to the Eikon. She said, 'I'm going someplace where nobody uses giant wooden headphones.' "

Just listened to Ben Harper’s “Don’t take that attitude to your grave” (YT link below) with the Eikon (driven by my Violectric V200 with a Norne Drausk cable).
One word: Chills. The Eikons convey the EMOTION of the musicians so well, while layering instruments deftly and providing punch to the drums/percussion. Such a great headphone.
I’m becoming more and more convinced that if you are trying to get close to the tonal balance and quality of the Focal Stellia, the Eikon (with the right amp and ideally an R2R DAC) is actually a really great option.

I occasionally listen to my Eikons in bed with my wife next to me and she has only commented that she could hear it once when I had it turned up higher than usual. They isolate pretty good.
There might be some hope for those who still want an Eikon...
right now we are thinking we may do a limited Eikon Classic type run with the new drivers but I am not sure yet as we're trying to make sure we don't release anything we can't keep up with!
