Meeting was unplanned, spur-of-the moment, and took place in undisclosed underground bunker. Special thanks to a very cool dude who loaned us some nice gear

It's 3:00 A.M. and Mikhail got in a couple hours ago. Purk is just walking out the door and I have to go to work in an hour. I have spent some time with the balanced R10 and the Singlepower SDS-XLR that is owned by a gentleman not to far from here. It is one of the nicest audio times I've had. Unbeleivable bass!!! The best midrange I have heard through headphones by a very long shot. Had a great time lots of great phones and no lines to use them with only five people here. I'll post more tomorrow.

4:00 a.m. and I just got home!! Mikhail is one of the nicest guy around. I really admire what he does to these amps. The SDS-XLR is a real champ. I heard the R10 with the big SDS and it was perfect. Everything is there. I hope Mikhail has some time to upgrade my SDS to be a high voltage tomorrow. Impressive get together. The R10 is definitely is the best dynamics headphone at the meet, but they are not for everyone.

What serial numbers are those R10's, and does anyone detect sonic differences btwn them?

And what is that electrostatic hf plugged into the KGSS? Is that a DIY?

Not sure what the single ended one was. But the one set up balanced was something like 1120. Both had excellent bass with the two SDS amps. deep and powerful. Purk can give you the # of the single ended one. I could only here the difference between the two amps. The SDS-XLR made the sound get very big and very strong. With either amp and good recordings the sound was balanced from top to bottom. Bass was very detailed and had a bunch of punch. With not so good recordings the treble could get a little out of hand.
