I have recently become interested in a few over the ear headphones over the past couple of weeks. I listen to mainly Metal and Dubstep/DnB/any techno song with a good beat. The headphones I am torn between are the
ATH-M50
HD-251
SRH750DJ
K181DJ

My two biggest factors are sound quality and comfort. I will be using these headphones for home use.
-iPod touch 4G
-SupremeFX X-Fi (Sound card) Thanks in advance.

this one is an ez answer- the akg and senn are not over the ear but rest on the ear.
the shure breaks a lot and creaks so much you feel nervous handling them. mine broke.

the m50 is built well, ez to drive, and sounds great, and is relatively comfortable

whatever you do don't get the shure srh750dj's for metal. they sounded atrocious for metal to me. but they sound amazing for dubstep.

Every headphone you've listed is more or less a portable - or at least capable of being use on the go. If they're only going to be for home use, why not expand your options?

I'd love to see the hd25 and m50 compared to the shure 750dj

for what ive read, Headfonia has an article in which the 4 you mention are compared:

I own the M50 and HD25, in case you want some comments about them, but Joker's amazing shootout should be enough, I think. HD25 suits great for metal and fast music in general, contrary to what most people say I do find they are powerful in the bass department, mostly when amped tho.
