does anyone have information on when the ESW10 is coming to the market. I am checking audiocubes every day at the moment. Very interested in trying these out.

I pre-ordered them on the japanese website of Audio Technica. No price to the moment for US, but they probably will at 600€ in Europe and 60000 Yens in Japan.

I hope you are wrong

50 pairs in Europe will make them rarer than breeding giant pandas (actually I probably have that oh so wrong

) and expensive granted...

But £475 good I do not expect them to be. That makes them over £100 more than a new pair of Denon D7000 or AT AD2000!

I'd want to hear them. They look just like the ESW9 with some lacquer.

I hope some one does, i want to get ESW9s if these don't deliver

Trust me, the ESW9 delivers, so you should get them now

£475 is a heck of a lot of money for a portable headphone. Unless it's 'L3000- or R10- good', I wouldn't get one.

I think it would be better to order them from Japan directly, street price probably lower, and you don't have to pay the insane costs the importer tacks on.

Although customs charges is always a possibility.

One of the best things that Japanese do well, is creating a hype from the most silly things you may think of.

Even they are great, EUR 600 are the hell out of most people budget, imo.

To me, they look like ESW9, with ESW10 on it...and how they may sound, time will learn...

the original poster on the forum who took the photos of the ESW10 said that they were a lot brighter than the ESW9, and I think he said they had a tighter bass, on first impressions.

Perhaps so, but I paid just under £150 for my ESW9s (inc import charge). The sound would have to be on an monumentally amazing level to justify the mused 3x price increase earlier in this thread

We are talking Heath Ledger TDK performance here and that bar is god-damned high

I'm also not quite sure how they could achieve a dramatic improvement in such a small, nearly identical package. Then again the ESW9 is to the ESW10 as the W1000 is to the W2002/W11JPN in terms of looks, so looks might not tell you much.
