Anyone using their sp2k in usb dac mode?
Trying to get it to work with my new MacBook Pro but USB Mode and External USB are both greyed out.

Hi Yanakiev,

I would recommend you at first to plug the usb-cable you intend to use in SP2000's usb jack and the other end of the cable nto the usb jack of your
MacBook. Right after that you touch the screen of the SP2000 close to its top edge, in order to show the notification bar. Push on "Disk". This symbol will be highlighted as grey. Then push again on "Disk" and after the grey highlighting has disappeared, you can stream music files via your MacBook, if you have activated the SP2000 in "setting/sound" in the upper area of the screen of your Mac.

Doesn't work, both with and without the apple USB-c to Digital AV adapter. I can only connect as "external USB"- USB mode stays greyed out no matter what.
My use case is to use the SP2000 as an external DAC/AMP.

When not using the official Apple adapter, the SP2K only charges ie doesn't even connect in External USB mode. Annoying.

have you:
tried another usb cable/another usb-c to camera adapter ?
set USB-Modus to MTP (in the settings of SP2000)?
checked, that SP2000 is selected in Mac' s settings/sound ?

Unfortunately, I'm not aware of further reasonable suggestions.

Have already asked Jason NYC about this issue?

there is some discussion on prior pages on M1 based Mac's having communication issues with the AK. the solution has been to use a USB C to USB A converter and then connecting the USB A to the AK via another cable. I don't know if you have tried this. I know it is not the ideal solution, but it may be worth a test to see if you can make the connection. The Apple branded USB C to USB A cable appears to be the preferred method.

The cable in question is coming in tomorrow so will give it a go. Annoyingly, my L&P W2 dongle is also refusing to work with the M1 Pro Macbook.

The issue seems to be with Thunderbolt 4 and it not fully compatible with previous generation USB-C devices. Not surprised to hear the L&P dongle not working also. Seeing more and more portable USB-C devices NOT working with the new Macs including most of the latest flagship Android smartphones. Unfortunately the hubs and adapters seem to be the only thing working for all devices that are having issues.
