2k volume is more solid.
The slope makes it easier to touch from the angle with one finger.
I'm going to give impression after 2 weeks using sp2k

Copper and coating look completely different from the SP1000Cu. The coating of the SP2000Cu seems to be either very thin or even non-existent. The copper is darker and less shiny. Judge for yourself from the following pictures.

This is the back of the SP2000Cu after touching it for one or two minutes. Fingertips are clearly visible, in real world even more than visible on the picture.

This is how the SP2000Cu looks after cleaning with a clean and dry kitchen paper for approximately 10 seconds. Note the tarnished copper rubbed off on the kitchen paper. The last letter "a" from "A&ultima" is already dark grey/black from tarnished copper rub-off.

Mmm....not overly concerned with my sp2k cu. Haven’t taken it out of the leather case since the first hour of usage and I will never take it out ever unless something bad happens to the leather case and it needs replacing.

Just got had a listen to the store display that just arrived today and did a lot of A/B between the SPk and SP2k with the Utopia, Sony Z1R, Sony EX1000 and CA Andromedas. They all improved in different parts. The general consensus in my opinion is the upper end of vocals (female vocals) and highs have more air to it, so better separation and clarity. To me this was quite noticeable.

I heard a noticeable improvement in bass bloom and decay on the over ears: Utopia and Z1R, but on all the IEMs it was the just the upper end of vocals and highs that have cleaned up and spaced out better.

The andromedas on balanced had a very nice 3D effect to the vocals which the EX1000 didn't benefit from, this was a really pleasant surprise and noticeable difference.

I don't think the difference between them is subtle for the most part, I think it's noticeable enough. Power is also a big difference, when volume matched by ear on balanced for the IEMs, I was listening to 38 on the SPK, but only 26 on the SP2K.

Just my 2c, I'm deciding now whether the huge price difference between the SPK and SP2K is worth it, because the store gave me a very cheap price on the SPK. I have the SPK offered at almost half price.

Hope this helps anyone looking for opinions.

Just installed the apk for Tidal offline. No problem. Works. Downloading 428 tracks so far. Tomorrow, flacs wavs dsd etc.

Raypin, can you tell me more about those Erlkonig you mention ? Can you post picture please ? Is it the new "universal" model ? are you using the stock cable ? have you other IEMs and how they compare to them or to your top closed Headphones ?

Also, on another subjet, have you ordered the ZMF Verite Closed? I will be interested to her your feeling about when plugged into the SP1000/SP2000 and.... the Sony DMP-Z1. I still have not found my perfect closed back headphone. I need a very good "very isolating" headphone.
