I just received a call from my dealer for SP2000. EU price is €3900 ($4380), which is a little bit higher than SP1000.

I used to own the sp1000 , it was a nice dap for iems. Nowhere near enough power for my headphones plus the worst eq in the market.I just received a call from my dealer for SP2000. EU price is €3900 ($4380), which is a little bit higher than SP1000.

Bro, I thought it has a parametric EQ which is better than WM1Z's 10-band EQ (according to one YouTube reviewer)..I used to own the sp1000 , it was a nice dap for iems. Nowhere near enough power for my headphones plus the worst eq in the market.

I had both SP1000 and SP1000M, then switched to Cayin N8 in the end. I sold that recently to switch to an Android DAP (DX220) and having heard about the SP2000 and seriously considered it. But the price seems to be really steep, more than double of a second hand SP1000 (which has a similar sound quality) and more than 4 times the price of DX220.
For me what makes SP2000 interesting over SP1000 is DSD512 support. My on the go headphones are Stellia and IEMs W900. So, no need for much power really. I know with this d**n audiophile virus inside me sooner or later I will buy it but I am not sure if it will be now.

I wasn't able to hear any difference out of EQ but AK seems to suggest that It is not for ordinary people. It is only for those privileged few who can hear pin drop a mile away.
I don't see how this will have a positive marketing effect but AK will not change.

I believe you can only adjust it +- 0.6db or something useless like that (less than 1db anyway). I adjust upto +-8db on some frequencies on any dap. Totally useless for me. Even more so if I can't use another music app.

A little bit Off-Topic, sorry, but could you comment on your Stellia. indeed, I never found a good closed back (isolating) headphone for my SP1000 and I ended-up using IEMs when I need sound isolation (AND lack of sound leakage when I listen in the bed with my wife besides me). So... is the Stellia really good ? Does it really isolate well (in and out) ?
thanks in advance for your feedback

To start with, how many people are there on Earth who can hear the difference between DSD512 and lower frequency DSD recordings in a blind test? Even given there is a set of equipment (DAP/DAC-headphones or DAP/DAC-amplifier-speakers), which, at least theoretically, enables one to experience the advantage of DSD512 over DSD256 and 128. And by hearing the difference in a blind test I mean no marketing tricks with an intentional quality reduction/different mastering of the lower frequency competitors. To me this is a rhetorical question...How many DSD512 exist on the planet?
After the High-Res race is more or less over with no clear winners (only those wielding the shiny and dubious Sony stickers and those with no stickers as almost every modern portable device (even smartphones) is capable of playing back 24bit/192 kHz and even 32/384 kHz files somehow (at least proudly indicating it can swallow and chew such files to spit something out of its 3.5 output) here we go again

Stellia isolates really well, for me. I don't listen to music with high volumes. I used it also in open office environments and others were not able to hear anything, they told me. For my type of music and listening volumes, is the best isolation I have seen. I haven't used it with SP1000 but with N8 and sounded very very good. I rotate my HPs and DAP/DACs quite regularly, Stellia is one of the few I decided to keep. It also passed the "wife" test, as my musician wife is very picky about HPs and IEMs, and she several times mentioned how good Stellia is.
NOTE: I don't think ND820 is really a closed HP. The amount it leaks in and out is nearly as much as any other open HP.

I just would like to have it, that is it.
As you are from Germany, have you heard the Tera-Player, ( €3312) also made in Germany.I just received a call from my dealer for SP2000. EU price is €3900 ($4380), which is a little bit higher than SP1000.
