Considering upgrading from wm1z to sp2000. Just curious to know if anyone has any comparison between the two. Understand that in a lot of ways sp2000 is better(resolution, power...etc). But I only used the wm1z for 200 hours. Do you guys think it's worth the upgrade?
I think it depends on what kind of sound signature you like. If you like full and organic presentation, I suggest sticking with 1Z. If you like high resolution, separation, accurate imaging, and staging, it makes sense to upgrade to SP2000. I love my SP2000Cu, which has fuller and more emotional engagement than SS version. People reported that the difference between SP2000 SS and Cu was relatively small compared to the difference on SP1000.
But I felt the other way round. SP2000Cu sounds significantly fuller and more organic/musical thank 2kSS. I was lucky enough to try both before I bought Cu version. The limitation was that both units were relatively new so that they have not been fully burnt in. So it is possible that my observation may be due to some variability on the units before full burn-in. YMMV.

I didn't even have a chance to compare the copper and SS versions.
In fact, I just auditioned SP1000 SS (the dealer said they didn't have SP2000 for demo purposes yet) and after the SP1000 SS blew my mind, I blind bought the SP2000 Cu.
From what I can hear, I like the SP2000 Cu more than the SP1000 SS that I had auditioned.

Hi,
I received my Sp2000 cu on Monday but yet to listen to it. I first like to load all the music which I’ve been doing for the last two days. Installed a 1TB sd card so I’ve been loading 1.5 TB of music mostly high res on the player.
Right now I have the A&K T8ie MK2 and Layla IEM’s. This is my 5th A&K player, I only use them in the house when I can’t turn the stereo on, so at most it’ll be used 50hrs a year. Do I need better IEM’s to take advantage of this player?

I am using SP2000 Cu with T8ie and it sounds great.
I have demoed Empire Ears Legend X and Valkyre as well in-store and they both sounded even more amazing.
I am planning to get Custum Empire Ears Legend X to go with my SP2000.

Ooo boy customs are way over rated. Yeah if it was 2011 custom iems ruled , but since 2017 its a waste. If you have odd shaped ears then try custom tips.I am using SP2000 Cu with T8ie and it sounds great.

Same here. I will probably be using the IER-Z1R as my go-to iem for a while. I preferred the copper version of the SP1000 but haven't tried the SP2000 cu/ss yet...Is it good pair of Ss for ier z1r?
Im thinking ss or cu for my ier z1r

I have to agree with this. I used custom iems from various companies for years but universals have caught up.

I have a QP1R and QP2R. I was looking to get a SP2000, but it would have to be bought blind. A couple of questions:
1. Can anyone explain how my two DAPs are similar or different in sound when compared to the SP2000?
2. All my music is ripped from CDs at 16/44.1, so is the SP2000 overkill if not using hi res music?

I cannot answer to your first question as I have no experience with QP1R/2R. But I can answer your second question.I have a QP1R and QP2R. I was looking to get a SP2000, but it would have to be bought blind. A couple of questions:

About 20% of my music library is ripped from CDs at 16/44.1. SP2000 presents them very nicely as if they are like 24/192. Sometimes it's difficult to tell the difference. Yes, I tried blind A/B test on the same piece of music with different samplings (CD/hires PCM/DSD).
