Really thinking about picking up a SP2000 CU or SP2000M (If created) later this year. I do want a musical sound, so is the CU more musical than the SS or are they equal, except for the minor sound difference?

Which dap have you used that was "musical"?

I have the Questyle QP1R and QP2R, which are the only DAPs I have heard. I like their sound.
The sp2000 CU is not more musical.

So , for you , the SP2000 sounds better than the Lotoo Paw Touch you used to own ?
It’s close. Technically, they are on par to me. I like the “bold” notes on 2k, but still miss LPGT in some aspects. One thing LPGT clearly wins is the responsiveness of the UI.

Not more musical than the SS version or not more musical than the QPxR Daps?
Not more musical than any Questyle dap.

I agree with you on battery, weight, and price. I don’t use EQ so that I don’t care. As for the size, SP2k is a bit thinner so that it’s a bit more pocket friendly despite the weight.
For storage, having 512 GB internal storage is a big plus for me because I can swap our micro SD cards depending on my mood of the day while I keep my “always favorites” on the internal memory. Also I prefer micro SD to full size SD.

So for you the sp2000 is easier to pit in your pocket and walk 2 hrs a day than the Lotoo cause its thinner ?

That is correct. I use it during my daily commute from NJ to Manhattan (bus, ferry, and subway).

Yes, LPGT has no internal storage, and the battery is not that stellar when up-sampling enabled (which I use all the time).

I am waiting for a sign that SP2000 is the best dap out there at the moment before opening my wallet again but so far I am not feeling it. :)

Mine arrives today after being delayed a week because of tropical storm Imelda. I’ll try get some quick impressions to you ASAP.
