Astell&Kern new flagship A&Ultima SP2000

Ahhh, most of the Chord devices are. But those are DAP/NOT DAP devices. I have the Poly/Mojo just for that reason. Hate it. OK, maybe strongly dislike. :raising_hand:

I'm hoping that the A&K DAPs getting "Roon Ready" status might open up the floodgates for more Android DAPs and Roon. For now it's only the "chosen" two models. Of course I'm an unlucky SP1000M owner... :sob:

I think the SP1000M would be a terrific Roon Ready device. Its compact form factor alone makes sense as Roon control will be performed on a Phone/Tablet/PC anyway. There are some great close out deals on SP1000M right now and I'd gladly buy one if Roon Ready was added.

I also share the same thought. It will be great if they can either extend it to SP1000M or to produce new products like SP2000M that are Roon compatible.

PS: I am receiving my SP2000 this afternoon. Getting very excited for it!

Congrats! I've been watching for a long time, waiting for that SP2000M. I already have so many devices with large screens and prefer more compact DAPs. I loved the size of the Sony WM1A/Z for example.

You’re gonna love it!

Thanks! I am sure I will. :) Right now I am watching the UPS driver on the live map. I both love and hate this feature.

I’m having a strange issue with Roon. When the screen is on, my hardware FF/REW buttons work as they should. When the screen is off, they jump 3 - 5 songs every press. Pause/Play works fine either way. The hardware controls work fine in Tidal, Qobuz, and the built-in player.

Anyone else see this? Tried restarting and it still happens.
I just found some old threads where this was an issue for Tidal and Qobuz, which seem to work now. Maybe the same fix needs to be done for Roon?

Roon works like a charm!

Quick question: the battery is now draining very fast. Is it because I just set it up and the system is performing some tasks in the background (like loading my library)?

I think it cause of wifi, ak has small battery and it drains fast! Maybe you now use the screen more too.
All that goes very quickly on the stamina

Thanks Tiger. I guess I will learn and adapt. :)

It is funny that SR15 is my first ever DAP and now, after a long tour, I come to hopefully settle on SP2000.
