Not a great solution... I just make a folder and put the songs I want on that playlist in there and drag that folder over.

I have the original Kann. I do have two 1tb Micron industrial micro sd cards in it. These are the only 1tb cards to not give me some sort of trouble. I had a 1tb sandisc extreme pro SD card in it before and it worked Ok except I could only load it by taking it out of the player and loading music from my computer directly then reinsert it into the player.
Of course that meant a full scan every time. I would have a 512 gb in the micro slot along with the 1tb sd card. I put the two Micron cards just to see, not expecting them to work any differently. My surprise as it now functions perfectly.
Follow-up: I now have a second Kann, brand new. I bought it to back up the other one but be new, and holding 2TB storage capacity. I put two SanDisc Extreme Pro 1tb microsd cards in it and it seems to be functioning just fine for now. We'll see when I go to add additional tracks to it though.

Personally I use mconnect with the original KANN which I still use quite often. Available for both iOS and Android. Much more robust than AK Connect and have the option to stream both Tidal and Qobuz to the original KANN. There is a free version with ads and a paid version without ads. Free version works well if you dont mind dealing with the small ads at the bottom of the screen.

KANN will support any DLNA-based app for control and streaming. There are a few more out there, but I personally like mconnect.
Thanks Jason.
I'd given up expecting AKConnect to be reliable. MConnect seems much more stable. I'd had mixed fortune with VLC also and then gave up.
You might have given me hope. Being able to play my KANN through my HiFi on the mezzanine whilst staying downstairs with guests was my goal.
I can invite people around again and bore them with my choice of music from my collection now.
Thanks again for the recom.
