Excellent point! I picked up a 1TB memory card during the Prime sale. This will help with the blocking of the slot because I will be able to add many more albums now.

It works pretty well, no complaints with the interface, speed or sound quality. Online or offline, playback has no hick ups, cracks or any kind of other disturbances. At least I haven't experienced anything so far (I have Hi-Res subscription, tried from 44 to 192 kHz, online and offline).

For installation you need a computer to download the apk file and transfer to the Cube. Some find it a cumbersome method. I found it fun. After installation it works as on an android phone. Same interface. I tried to download one track for offline use without any issue. Sound quality is super, same as with local sound files.

In my experience, no matter what a manufacturer says, all microSD cards will work if any do. Usually they state the current highest capacity available, probably here that's because they either didn't have a 1tb card to test, or the specs sheet was drawn up during product development before 1tb cards came along. Heck, my 400Gb microSD works in my Nokia 808. Someone should try, I'd be extraordinarily surprised if 1tb cards don't work.

Officially, per AK site, supported cards are 512gb max but this could be as you said - not tested for higher capacity by vendor. I would assume that CPU is good enough to work with large numbers of files

Very likely not true. Up to 512gb I have brought every new 'highest capacity' card on release for like a decade, at those times the manufacturer of every device I've ever used them in stated they were not supported (I used to change phones as many as a dozen times a year, so we're talking a lot of devices here). As I said, someone should try it.
