New Head-Fier
well, tidal no longer supported on ak380... disappointed
@JasonNYC sorry about digging out old post. But I guess this is not going to happen. waited 2yrs+ for this. The AK380 will not be getting the Open APK update as it runs an older version of Android than the newer players. We will continue to support and are planning on adding some new features in future firmware updates for other players in the line that will not get the OpenAPK support, including the AK300 series players. We will make some official announcements soon.
Is it even possible to be loaded? Aside from that, AK seems to be looking into adding new options on the AK Connect app, but that will probably be DLNA crap, which I can already do with third party apps and frankly, it sucks. I'd rather just use local files at this point.Time for community developed firmware?
AK's product life cycle is too short to gather any such interest IMO. You don't see people mod AK products any more either, whereas WM1Z mod is still a thing.Time for community developed firmware?
Here´s a quote from Yu Kuk - il, AK´s Sound Designer
"...I don't eat anything at all but only drink for several days while tuning the sound. When getting hungry, you get extremely sensitive, right? Hearing can also be that much acute. I lose more than 9 pounds in weight because of that..."
Now, that´s what I call commitment to Sound Quality
The authorized repair center for the UK/EU is in Germany. You can find more info here, as well as fill out an online RMA form for service - https://www.iriver.com/support/RMA_001.aspHi,
I’m pretty much new here at Head-fi, though I’ve been following the site for some time now. I was hoping some of you guys could help me with one thing. I live in the UK and own an AK380 copper+amp combo in need for repair. I have already tried to reach iRiver, but no luck.
Does anybody here know where I could send it for repair? Any advice would be appreciated.
Stay updated on Astell&Kern at their sponsor profile on Head-Fi.

Thank you very much for the advice. I contacted them directly and everything is on the mend now. Apparently there were a couple of bits that needed to be changed, but I am quite pleased with the service I've got until now. Now to wait a bit longer...Hi,
I have the same combination as you and I sent my AK380 Copper back to their service centre in Germany to get repaired as every time I pressed the power button my AK would cut out and power off, cost to repair that was €20 and I decided to have a new battery and was charged €40.
The details are below, send them a e mail and they will send you a form to fill in, you have to fill it out on your PC or Laptop and then print it out and send it back with your device.
I hope that helps.
