Mine is about 3 seconds to turn on.
That seems more than fine, for me once in a blue moon. Im holding onto it for 15 seconds and nothing is happening.

Then suddenly it just turns on.

I am teetering back and forth about sending this in while I am still in warranty or to just let it be but the problem is I am scared to send in only for AK to say "everything is fine" as it sometimes does turn on like normal.

@JasonNYC advice please?

That’s perfectly normal and wouldn’t stress. If I hold the button it will turn on after a few seconds and take about 15 seconds plus to fully boot to use.

How long normally you guys play your Sp3000 continuously each day?
Since I also have the SE300, I use my SP3000 mainly at home, in the evening, on average for 2/3 hours. Often together with the A100TB.

Trying to do the search for the music in Tidal in different languages in sp3000 but can not find Thai or Japanese language. Anyway to add other languages for searching music?

Please advise. Only seen maybe 5-8 languages section in sp3000.

Thank you,
Tony

Asian languages are only available on CN firmware players. I believe yours is with CM firmware for US/Europe region.

Is anyone using their SP3000 exclusively with full-size headphones? I’ve got Utopia 2022 and Meze Empyrean and absolutely zero desire to get into IEMs - wondering if this DAP can actually sound enjoyable with full-sized cans, and if it is actually possible to extract all the quality that is in the unit with these headphones.

I've used it quite a bit with Utopia and Caldera, and to me it sounds wonderful!! My desktop amps may give a bit more punch, but for a transportable set up, it works great (to my ears).

I use them with HD800s, Focal Clears and I just purchased the Hifiman Arya Organic and they sound amazing using the 3000.

You may need to use more volume than a standalone Deaktop amp but again no issue they are amazing.

I also use the SP3000 as my DAC to my FluxLabs FA12 class A amp, and in that application the Dac out of the SP3000 is one if not my favorite sounding Dac I use. Enjoy

Thanks everyone who responded so far: these comments are extremely helpful and much appreciated. I had purchased an RU7 dongle thinking it would do the job, and it really sounded anemic powering my full-sized headphones, so I returned it. Don’t wanna make another mistake! Sounds like the SP3000 is the way to go. Thank you!

By the way, what kind of cable do you use in this application? I was thinking of running this straight into my Stratus - do you go 4.4 into RCA?

Straight in headphone, and out of the 3000 as a DAC I use 4.4 pentacon.

Interesting - I had some back-and-forth with Musicteck and asked about both the SP3000 and the SE300 and how they would work with both the Empyrean & Utopia (sent the message before I posted here) - They did not recommend either of these DAPS for use with full-size headphones, and instead recommended the Cayin N30LE (😳) and the N8ii as they both have more output. Not sure why they would give me contradicting information as they do both Cayin and A&K….

I don’t use over ears but I freaking love my N30 .N30 gets most of the use. I’m still keeping SP3k since it’s stellar dap though
