aptX Adaptive / aptX Lossless USB Transmitters
May 25, 2022 at 5:05 PM Post #121 of 2,075
I've been following this thread and ordered a KB9p from Alliexpress which arrived today. It seems to be working really well, except that it only shows up in Windows as 16/48 with no option to select other formats. I've tried it on 3 different devices with the same results.

Is there something I am missing, does it need a specific driver perhaps? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
My KB9P is still in transit. Does it have 24-bit 96KHz printed on the USB metal Near the very edge?

No I can't see anything printed on the metal. I just looked back at the link I bought from and notice it does say 16/48 unfortunately. They seem to have an identical one that says 24/96 so I may have to give that a go at some point.

Win 10 or Win 11?

I ask as FiiO have a driver for their BTA30 PRO for Win 10 to let it see all bitrates, but it is not need on Win 11 for me at least so I wonder if there is something similar going on.

Some of the listings are not accurate but I think the one I have coming is 24/96 going by the screenshots but the one I have now is 16/48.

I typed the above reply before your two posts appeared as page was not refreshed, the K8 models ones that first appeared claiming to be 24/96 had the extra Chinese symbols on them that mcnaugha informed me says "Unicorn".

dongle that supports Snapdragon sound and LDAC with the qcc 3071 chipset will be released soon. A prototype is currently on sale.
500+ yuan.
Sounds great but if it has the QCC3071 then it should also be able to support the new “aptX Lossless” codec. Can they confirm that?

Now we need an upgrade to the UTWS5 too. It has SS certification but knowing Qualcomm that won’t mean they can add the aptX Lossless codec. So, we’ll need a UTWS7!

Have any TWS earphones been announced with QCC3071 or QCC5171 yet?

What would also make this perfect is the addition of LHDC too. The version on the FiiO UTWS5.

product has been released. This cheaper version does not support ldac, but instead supports snapdragon sound. Supports calls, but not aptX voice.

This could be another great alternative to the KB8P. What chipset is it using?

LDAC in this small form factor could be very beneficial to iPhone users. Although a USB-C version would be even better. Plus LHDC now that FiiO is using this codec again but has yet to add it to their current DAP range.

LDAC + aptX Lossless in a small form factor could be a huge global seller.

What would also be great is if the headphone apps can communicate through these adapters, e.g. Sony Headphones or FiiO Control could operate the same as using the smartphone's native Bluetooth. Plus delivery of firmware updates via iOS/Android app.

Speaking of firmware updates, is there any news about wider/easier access to these? The update you had failed on my device and without release notes, I don't know if I need it.

I see the soon to be released "CREATIVE BT-W4" somewhere and I know I replied to post but I cannot find it (it was either here or on Reddit).

Claims it has an App and since it is primary for the PC that would be a first but would simply work like their USB soundcards.

EDIT: it is this thread, previous page, wrong keywords in search.
